Right. Because being atheist means you can do no wrong and you're better than everyone. 

And no, I won't start one because I think they're stupid. That's the whole point of my post. People from all walks of life do good things and bad things.

But atheists don't do bad stuff because of belief.

Sure they/some of us do. Belief in all sorts of ideologies can lead to doing bad things. And atheists can believe some pretty stupid things.

Atheism isn't by itself an ideology of any kind, it refers only to the absence of a belief in a specific thing. And not believing in gods doesn't mean one isn't religious, there are numerous atheistic religions. An irreligious atheist can be a nihilist or a fascist or a sadist just like any religious fanatic, atheism does not make moral proclamations, it can't. The only way the term can be said to carry other aspects is in it's contemporary use in the surge of atheism that has occurred over the last 15 years or so, which often expresses principles of secular humanism and naturalism.

Sure - we CAN believe in stupid things. Christians and other religious dumbasses HAVE TO believe in stupid things, as atheism doesn't come bundled with cosmological, or political beliefs. As with most things in the real world - it's all about the probabilities. Christians have 100% chance of believing in something stupid. Atheists have at least a bit smaller chance of that.
