Another fake Catholic miracle.

RE: Another fake Catholic miracle.
So, this one is fairly recent...

miracle

It's pretty much a 14 year investigation that ends with "we don't know... so, MAGIC!"  The approval doesn't seem to require any reason to believe that the outcome was supernatural or divine other than the fact that it cannot be explained.

There was a time when the motion of the planets, the flu, and lightning could not be explained.  Now we know... not magic.

RE: Another fake Catholic miracle.
Why are all fucking miracles exclusive to religion!
Is there anything on earth that religion DOESN'T claim credit for?

There's that inescapable binary thinking at work again...
Do we know for sur that there's not a non denominational bunch of trolls under a bridge mumbling some incantations in an ancient weird dialect which is causing these miracles to occur?
No God, No fear.
Know God, Know fear.

I'd like to give credit to Doc Johnson LLC for several miracles.

Like for example if a person who has cancer all of the sudden wakes up the next day with the cancer completely gone, they would need to determine if this was possible, medically. If the person's cancer had a 30% chance of being cured, for example, then they can't prove that it's a miracle. It would need to have a 0% chance of being cured. And they do this by investigating and interviewing the person's doctors, care givers, looking at ex rays, etc. It's usually a process that can take more than 10 years.

Which is all general talk, so how about a specific example where it has been clearly and reasonably shown it's a miracle through such process? I have yet to encounter one.

Sorry, I was out. But I see you found one.

Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

No, that's not a good example. I want one where it is clearly and reasonably shown it was a miracle (i.e. God did it). Too much vagueness going on in that article.

Then why not try doing your own google search? That way you can look over several of them to see if you find one you are satisfied with.

RE: Another fake Catholic miracle.
I don't understand this differentiation between nature and "super nature" for someone who believes everything was artificially created to behave exactly a certain way in the first place. Everything that happens is "a miracle" because it was god's intent right from the start. The only difference is whether he leaves the plan going as he originally intended, or if he decides to suddenly alter it for some reason by getting directly involved. Each such involvement indicates a flaw in the original plan, so I'm not sure why it should be celebrated.

Of course, many theists flip-flop between nature being god's design, and nature being something that was already going on when God showed up for work. That way, "bad things" in nature can be written off as "that's just nature" while giving him credit for all the good things that are equally natural.

Bah, humbug! "Miracle" is a meaningless term. It's always an argument from ignorance. "We don't understand how this happened so it was magic, and not just magic but God magic, and not just God magic but our God magic." No thanks, I'll stick with "unexplained".

Who told you I've never done that? Plus, the burden here is on you, not me. You seem confident that this is all legit, so I thought maybe all of a sudden you had an example that would finally explain to me such confidence. But at this point, all I can surmise is that you're just intellectually a little lazy, and that is why you are quick to believe certain things without doing enough fact-checking ...
