2-big bang theory in the Quran

Quote:Do you not understand how a discussion forum works. People discuss things and naturally discussions flow into different areas.
this will really lead to a messed up conversation i prefer to talk about the subject and after we finish we can start another subject as some of the subjects really need a lot of explanation and also takes time to prepare and bring evidence for it from the Quran and from websites
Quote:As to how someone who lived 1400 years ago could know anything about things that have only recently been discovered, specifically Muhammed and the Qu'ran then the answer is simple. He couldn't and he didn't and his scribblings are so vague that they could be applied to almost anything that was later discovered, or, as Ash said, these were things that were already known about.
that is not correct at all and you can try to apply this for any thing i say it is mentioned in the Quran and see wether this is the case or not but in contrary there is details given that make it impossible to get it by chance or by saying general claims and also very hard to even imagine according to the understanding they had 1400 years ago
saying that these facts was known before is really wierd and you can search to see when it was known to us and who discovered it and also see what the scientists thought about it from few hundred years ago or even just few years ago in some cases
you can say general claims to prove to yourself that there is no scientific facts mentioned in the Quran or you can examine every little detail in the verses of the Quran with little objectivity to know wether this is from god or not and to know the truth about why we are here and if there is a life after our life or not.its your choice not mine but i think if there is god and the Quran is his word you would like to know before you die

Just what sort of bloody nonsense is this? Look, the Quran was written to justify some of the worst behaviour mankind has ever known, the rest is borrowed from the bible. more rubbish. islam still believes that the bloody earth is flat, how can it claim knowledge?

that is not correct and you are just showing how ignorant you are about the history of islam.and also the Quran didnt say that that the earth is flat but it states clearely that it is spherical but plz strict to the subject which is the big bang theory in the Quran

i mentioned 3 verses in the Quran that was later proved by science to be exactly correct and there is a lot of other scientific facts mentioned in the Quran and after 1400 years was proved by science when it was impossible to be known at Muhammed(pbuh) time(which i will be clarifying for a while) if you think that this verses can mean something else or that it tells wrong information you are welcome to discuss this in more details Smile

You mentioned it, but you didn't give any evidence.

The stuff in the Koran is so vague, science on the other hand... is incredibly specific. The Koran couldn't be further from 'scientific' if it tried.

what evidence you want me to give?? i mentioned the verse and the meaning of the words then the scientific fact discovered

first of all the Quran is not a book of science its a book of signs god shows you the greatness of the creation and tells us information that we didnt know before. if this was written by someone it would contain a lot of errors because of the increase in the knowledge through time and the ability to see and explore things in the universe that wasnt known before also this is one of the proofs that this is the word of god as it was impossible to know this information from 1400 years
its not vague at all you can try to give me what could this verses mean rather than what i say but in fact the arabic words is more accurate and specific than the english words which increase the possibility of making a scientific mistake and untill now i have never found a single word in the Quran that contradicts a scientific fact but in contrary i found a list of scientific facts mentioned in the Quran that was later proved exactly as mentioned in the Quran

My point exactly.

I am yet to see you quote anything 'scientific' in the Koran.

Of course there is no science in the Quran, nor indeed in any religious text of any existing or long gone religion! The reason for that is simple, modern science came to be much later that all these holy scripts! How can there be in them, something that did not even exist as a concept?

I'm sure even before the time of the Quran, people did understand the concept of time. And so, they would sure understand that like everything, time had a beginning! All the texts do, is say, in a poetic way, that "there was nothing and then there was something, and that something was made by <insert desired God name here>"! It's like saying that Da Vinci designed first the helicopter! Making a drawing of something and saying "this should fly" is very different that actually making something that flies!! So no, there is no science in religious texts, there is only people who take passages and try to make them fit somehow in the modern world, just so they can say "HA, see? We are right, you are wrong"! Much like what people do with the "prophecies" of Nostradamus.

Religious texts are poetry and nothing more. If any history did exist in them, it is buried under tons of allegory and distortion, so much so, that they must not be taken at all seriously as historic texts nor be taken literally!

*Edit* Here is a small clip of father George Coyne, up till recently head of the Vatican observatory!

"We are all atheists about most of the gods that humanity has ever believed in, some of us just go one god further..." Richard Dawkins

"If the world does come to an end here, or wherever, or if it limps into the future, decimated by the effects of religion-inspired nuclear terrorism, let's remember what the real problem was that we learned how to precipitate mass death before we got past the neurological disorder of wishing for it." Bill Maher
