I've seen this video of his before. It's pretty good at pointing out how ridiculous it would be for Yahweh to be real.

Aegon: yeah that one kicks ass too!
I love the way he uses all sorts of techniques to highlight the absurdity from all angles. Feel free to send me a private message.

But Theistic beliefs are harder to quash than cockroaches. There's practically no convincing many Theists and, unfortunately, they simply believe because they were taught to believe. Will that ever really change?
That core problem is unlikely to change, but I think it's getting harder and harder to do it. The internet especially makes insulating people from different viewpoints (and fact checking) extremely difficult. There seems to be a drift towards more liberal theists, with the doctrine being watered down a bit more each generation. That's in (most) civilised countries, anyway.
Sadly in some places they will still disown, beat or even kill you for daring to be different. That's the last refuge of religion I think. The rest of it won't entirely go away, but I believe it will get diluted into obscurity in time. Feel free to send me a private message.

What presumption..
Just because one can not verify or falsify a claim does not mean the claim is not verifiable or unfashionable. It simply means that individual is not in a position to do so. Thus that person my rely/have faith in those who do until he himself can verify or falsify a claim IF that day EVER comes. Example: Can Anyone of you PERSONALLY Verify that we did or did not goto the moon based on you own life experience? I'm not talking about watching a video or touching a rock in a museum. I am asking how many astronauts are here who have set foot on the moon? Yet as a country we (for the most non crazy part) can accept that we indeed set foot on the moon solely based on what others experienced and witnessed for themselves but we ourselves did not. Or better yet how many of you can take a sample of something and carbon date it yourself, with the stuff you have at home? what about DNA? how many of you have mapped the human genome personally and can personally draw parallels between it and our closest Simeon relative? So then how does the faith we have in our space program or 'science' at large differ FOR THOSE who are asked to simply believe what they are told is true by 'science?' In how this relates to the video how does the "ridiculous claim" in the video when it pertains to God, become trivial? But, when a similar claim like we landed on the moon is taken as gospel truth IF INFACT The SAME MEASURE OF FAITH IS REQUIRED FOR BOTH TO BE ACCEPTED? Again, you haven't yourself been to the moon, you can't carbon date, you can't map a genome I would be willing to bet the farm you can not do/personally verify 1/3 of the things you accept as fact/truth, yet you have FAITH in those who can and do. Yet when this SAME EXACT measure of faith is required by God before He will open the gates of heaven to flood you with all the Personal evidence you would ever need (He do the equivalent of taking you to the moon) you 'smaart' people mock the very type faith you have in science when you are asked to put it in God. In order for this video to have any merrit No one Ever could have had any experience with God. Yet look at how you all support it.. On FAITH. |
