I remember very well though.
I wasn't there at the time, but I have done a load of reading on David Icke when I first heard about him years ago. Like I said, the Wikipedia article states (correctly) that he wore turquoise; it even has a picture of him *at the interview where he proclaimed himself the son of God*, wearing the turquoise tracksuit.

There are no mentions of the word "purple" in the article.

If you look at my last post you can see his track suit, seens to be mainly blueish with pink on the shoulders.

Oh for god's sake, all I said was that he went mad and wore purple. I remember all the news at the time when he and his family wore purple tracksuits or shell suits. He may well have switched to turquoise after a while but when he first 'came out' as a nutter he was definitely in purple, which I seem to remember, was claimed to be a spiritual colour.

Yes it does matter. Because I'm right! Anyway, you where only 12/13 in 1981 and I was 14/15 and paid more attention to the news.

And yes, I'm not saying he didn't wear turquoise but there was a period in his life when he also wore purple along with his family and cult. He was well known for it.

So, when I said he went mad and wore purple, I was right!

RIGHT, RIGHT, RIGHT, RIGHT, RIGHT, RIGHT, RIGHT, RIGHT, RIGHT, RIGHT, RIGHT, RIGHT, RIGHT, RIGHT, RIGHT!!!!!

I'm currently seeking confirmation from the David Icke facebook page with it's 47,000 members. I will then accept your apology, not only for being wrong but for not understanding my point and then using that misunderstanding as the basis for your attack.

The following is the most delightful statement about purple, of all time!!!

I'm really shitty at giving kudos and rep. That's because I would be inconsistent in remembering to do them, and also I don't really want it to show if any favouritism is happening. Even worse would be inconsistencies causing false favouritisms to show. So, fuck it. Just assume that I've given you some good rep and a number of kudos, and everyone should be happy...

Darwinian -

I've seen the video. He didn't say that he's the son of god. When Terry asked him, David's first words were along the lines of "Yes, well, you see..." and then the audience started laughing before he could finish his sentence. If he meant yes I am, then he would have elaborated, since by saying yes and meaning it literally, he would have no problem with elaborating. But he didn't. It's obvious that his use of the word "yes" was part of a general phrase. If he wanted to say yes, he would have made it clear and he would have elaborated, since it is obviously a big claim and Terry would have insisted that he elaborate, but even Terry understood, otherwise he would have pressed him. This is a common mistake made by a lot of people, the innacuracy of which is highlighted by the fact that he has never mentioned being the son of god in any of his books or talks or subsequent interviews.
