I have no need to prove that I should be taken seriously as there are no consequences for me either way. What are the consequences for you if you were to decide that you can or can't take me seriously?

Godhead, are you completely clueless?

This is a form for debate and discussion, not a forum for spouting your bullshit 'feel good' beliefs and then ignoring any criticism that they attract.

If you want to contribute anything beyond "gut feelings" then please feel free, use your fucking brain for once, otherwise you're just wasting everyone's time, including your own.

I don't believe I'm wasting anyone's time, certainly not my own. However if you feel that you're wasting yours, you could always stop doing whatever it is that's causing that.

I disagree with that statement. I think you are wasting all of our time... yours included. You claim to believe things that are... let's just say... unconventional... and when asked why you believe these things, you basically say that you believe things that you want to be true... to be true.

So far, from my perspective, your beliefs are based entirely upon your own imagination, wishful and/or magical thinking, and childish wonder. You have made no attempts to refute that, choosing instead to shrug and say, well... that's what I believe. How is anyone supposed to respect that? You make things up, mull them over a bit, decide that you like the idea... and then choose to believe it's true? That is, quite frankly, the stupidest system of belief I have ever encountered. In fact, it is difficult to believe that someone with any intelligence at all (which I think you have) could seriously think that way. I find myself hoping that you are a Poe, because if you're not... it's just sad. Theists are often labeled 'Intellectually Dishonest', but that label doesn't even begin to describe you sufficiently.

Other theists express their beliefs and, while I do not believe they are correct, I can at least respect that they have their reasons for believing. Those reasons are not compelling enough to cause me to believe, but at least it boils down to more than "because that's what I believe". And I'm not just talking about your science fiction version of 'god', either. You have said several things in these forums that beg the question, 'Why do you believe that?'... and have yet to give an actual answer. I paraphrase:

"Everything is going to change within five years. All governments will change beyond recognition."

"The color turquoise is a conduit of positive energies."

"As more people leave organized religion, the number of believers rises."

"Reptilian overlords might be living among us." (inferred by your refusal to dismiss the claim and your fandom of David Icke)

"The entire universe and all things within it are manifestations of God."

There are more, but I can't be bothered to remember them all right now. The point is that if you are going to continue making statements of belief, you will continue to be asked why you believe those things. If you continue (as you've done so far) to obfuscate, dodge, and flat out refuse to answer those questions... then you are completely wasting our time and yours. It's like having an unsupervised child in the forums.

I sincerely hope that (if you are for real) you will eventually realize that, just because you can imagine something and like the idea, it does nothing to validate the truth of that idea. You say that you feel that it's true. I say, stop letting your imagination and emotions dictate your reality and use your brain for thinking. And unless you can begin backing up the things you claim... stop wasting everyone's time.

I appreciate that you think I'm intelligent and I thank you for the compliment, but really, I don't feel the need to be validated, or for my views to be validated, or even respected. Also I'm not sure where you're getting the idea that I'm wasting my own time. I really don't feel that I am, maybe that's just your perception but I assure you it's not true. As for others' time being wasted, you'd have to ask them individually, don't you think? Either way, if you feel that your time is wasted by engaging in conversation with me then the thing to do is to stop having conversations with me, otherwise you're kind of wasting your own time, which seems a bit silly to me, as well as ironic. Anyway that's my view. Maybe we could get back to talking about David "son of god" Icke? (not necessarily you, Paul, if you don't want to that's ok).

You are certainly a waste of my time... and, in my opinion, everyone else's. Whether they think so or not does not change that opinion, so that argument falls short. I continue to interact with you in the hopes of discovering whether or not you are real, to be honest. You are so unbelievable that I am curious. Plus... your beliefs make me laugh and I always enjoy a good laugh. A part of me actually hopes that something will get through to you eventually. I realize how unlikely that is, but at least the attempt could prove entertaining... for a while.

As for wasting your own time... you are correct... I have no idea what your motivations are. I do suspect that they are carefully calculated and covert, though.

Back to David Icke? Okay. Why did you post a thread about an obvious wacko and expect the rest of us to discuss him seriously? Actually... we have discussed him. I didn't even know who he was before this thread. What do you have to say about him?

I wasn't expecting anyone to take the subject of this thread (David Icke) seriously, or not seriously. I just started the thread, that's all. What do I have to say about him, I think he's onto something, I think he's very bright, and a very good speaker, and I think he means well and he's genuine. What I find amazing is how when he first started, almost nobody listened, however now, there is a huge and growing number of people around the world who do.

Why?

Why?

Genuinely ludicrous

I too find it amazing, and somewhat frightening, especially the fact that so many people actually believe in reptilian overlords. Especially frightening when you consider these people breeding.

Not everyone who reads his books or goes to his talks believes in reptiles.
