That's with Republican voters - voters who would likely support him if he were the nominee. It's the swing voters I'm worried about.

Maybe I overestimate him. I hope so. I would certainly rather see Hilary running against that clown, Donald Trump or that smirking jerk, Ted Cruz though.

Florida is not only a closed primary - Republicunt voters only - it is also a winner take all primary.  If Rubio loses those 99 delegates to Trump he can kiss his ass goodbye.  The last thing he will have to worry about is what happens in the general election.

Here are some possible delegate scenarios. Going by this, it looks like the Trump attacks are going to have to register with a lot of people in order to work. Thing is, it will only likely result in a brokered convention. Worse still, Trump may still own the plurality of the delegates. That means they will have to choose a nominee over the will of the voters. It's going to be ugly. These attacks will have to be spectacularly successful to avoid that.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

I'll take Rubio over that corrupt crook Hillary any day.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

You don't get to be a politician in this country by not being a sleazebag.  They have to make too many deals along the way.

My bold. I actually agree with this 100%. I never see it as voting for a good person, I always see it as voting for the lesser of 2 evils. In the case of Trump and Hillary though, I don't think there is a lesser.

Last night, on MSNBC's All In, former RNC chairman Michael Steele... one of the few republicans I have any respect for... said that if Trump has the majority of delegates and they try to prevent him from being the nominee at the convention "all hell would break loose."  He called it a 'civil war.'  Seriously.  Is there anyone who thinks that Trump's fans would just calmly bend over and take it up the ass?

Quote:But that’s still not Rubio’s “biggest liability as a presidential candidate.” I tend to think it’s a little more significant that much of Rubio’s policy platform is based on lies and discredited economic theories. Just today he released his plan for exploding the military budget well beyond its current levels as part of his neoconservative foreign policy vision to pick fights and spread freedom at gunpoint. He’s going to provoke international conflicts and preside over a vast expansion of defense spending while also blowing a hole in the budget by slashing tax rates, eliminating taxes on investments, and creating new tax credits for the middle class. The last Republican president implemented a more modest version of this policy agenda, and the results – intractable military quagmires, exploding inequality, huge deficits – left him so widely reviled that he put himself in political exile, where he remains to this day.

He's a neo-con shit.

Bad as they were, as endlessly stupid and venal as they could be, they didn't have the heft to sink the GOP once and for all.

Trump/Christie just might be able to pull that off.

Now, I've long predicted that the Establishment GOP will find some way to fuck Trump, even if they have to resort to a brokered convention. I stand by that prediction. But -- damn! -- I'll be disappointed if it turns out I'm right. I'm ready to see grown men weep on Fox News. I'm ready for the public mass nervous breakdown on the Right that would ensue if Trump got the nomination. I'm ready for the torches and pitchforks.

I've glimpsed the promised land, and I want to see the milk, honey, and blood flow!

You'll get even better with a brokered convention: you'll get a Donald Trump Meltdown©.

True. From this point on, for me it's win-win . . . unless the bastard somehow gets elected. But I'm not holding my breath on that.
