That's probably not a very good reason to elect a person to the office of president, Scoob, but hey.......it's your vote. In the event he wins, whatever the consequence, remember your reasons.

Come to think of it, a fuck head like Trump recieving these many votes means that there are that many Americans that support his ideas. How do you people live in peace knowing that the next person you meet might very well be a Trump fan?

Every population has its share of people who in different circumstances would be fully fledged members of a fascist party. What Trump has done is to show us who they are. These kind of people aren't hard to spot once you know what to look for. These are people who lack empathy and who will happily steal from or hurt others when they recognise that they can get away with it without consequence. Or people who lack critical thinking skills who are ready to turn a blind eye, preferring instead to have their own comfortable prejudices confirmed to them by the media and ignore questions that they cannot answer.

All it takes is a lack of imagination and a sustained willingness to accept what you are told without question. Read Rudolf Hoess's autobiography, the commandant of Auschwitz if you want a first hand account of a genocidal mass murderer. There is nothing particularly abnormal about how that man thought. If he had been fighting for another side he might even have been decorated as a war hero considering how easy it was for him to stay cool in combat and kill people. Or he could have made a good politician with a logistical mind like that. Yet while murdering millions of Jews he loved his family and recognised the suffering that he caused in others.

Even if Trump doesn't get in, the problem remains. The conversation has moved so far to the right now it drags the left along with it. Check out that video I posted earlier of Bush senior and Reagan debating immigration back in 1980. They seem like bleeding heart liberals compared to even the democrats nowadays. And there is still the disenfranchised segment of the population who are angry and prefer the option of destroying everything to 'shake things up'.

Comparing Trump to Hitler is so far off base. He's a businesman, not a fascist. I was a liberal at one point, but moved towards libertarian, especially when Obama came into power, and I started seeing how authoritarian the left can become. They are very smug, and due to the education system indoctrinating people. The old liberals are good, but the neo-liberals are mentally ill. They are all about controlling thoughts and language, and by extension behavior. They go around labeling people with words like xenophobic for the smallest things. The new left thinks it's best to love all countries but your own. Property belongs to all, but not a single person. Children belong to the community, but not the parents. It's collectivism gone awry.

It's the left who is calling for reeducation centers, and throwing people in jail for incorrect thoughts. They are the ones complaing about free speech when it offends them, and then using violence to express their free speech while claiming they are the victims. For me because I read year ago about what they were going to do, and now see it happening I see a pile of useful idiots fighting the establishment while promoting the ideology of the establishment. Instead of saying he or she because it's hurtful, they say Xe, or hxstory. Mother and father is bad, because it's not inclusive.

It's trully a mental illness, and they are projecting their illness over society and demanding we be tolerant of their beliefs and accept them as our own, while being intolerant to thoughts they disagree with.

Well no that's really not the reason I'll vote for him. I see him as an outsider, and the more the establishment attacks him the more I have to support him. He will truly put an end to all the BS in this country. Crony capitalism giving capitalism a bad name needs to end. The de-industrialization needs to end. The bad trade deals need to end. The businesses moving offshore for cheap labor and avoid taxes needs to be fixed to incentivize them to stay here, and create more jobs for US citizens. We need to build up the manufacturing base here, and not China. The tax code needs to be simplified. Somehow we need to create incentives for people to get jobs instead of be content living on wellfare. We need to get away from the idea that people are too big to jail, because it creates an environment of corruption.

I don't know how the definition of liberal is selling these days among not so liberal Americans. But if you consider Obama to be far to the left, you have to learn a lot about the left. In short, just about everything. Obama is as left as my right arm.

You never were a liberal. Maybe you are a laissez fair libertarian, I wouldn't know. The only thing I do know, going by your post record, is you being a conspiracy nut.

Hitler managed to convince enough people in one of the more progressive countries to vote for him using the same kind of language rhetoric and "reasoning". Its not that he's right wing or left wing, its that no one knows for sure, even him, he has contradicted everyone of his stances at some point and just lies and lies and lies. he is a Walter Mitty fantasist with his finger getting closer to the nuclear button. He is scary, but then so are all the republican nominations. Rubio and Cruz are right wing extremists but at least we know they are Trump is just a bullshitter who would be unpredictable at a time when the world is about to lose its money again.

I think it would be much more fruitful in this case to specify common employee ownership, so that nobody can claim that the idea is to turn over the means of production to the government.

Of course, a fundamental disconnect between left and right is that we on the left have, as an ideal, a government which works to benefit its citizens and is accountable to them, where the right generally resents the idea that the federal government can interfere with state-level fiefdoms and prevent these states from functioning as fiefdoms. I don't know of anyone who professes a desire for Stalin-style communism (probably because almost no one actually does), but I'm sure there isn't any progressive or liberal in existence who actually does want government to control everything and wants only to work to enlarge it at any cost.

Indeed, progressives are all about minimizing government reach into quite a few important areas, women's uteri as just one prominent example.

Again, I am just reporting the news.  I regard Trump as a cross between a fucking moron and a toxic waste dump and it is frightening that anyone with a functioning brain cell would consider voting for the motherfucker.  But...that's what you get with fucking republicunts. Everyone talks about the left/right paradigm, but no one talks about the ones above it. The ultra rich. What do they want? They want centralized power, and bigger government because in the end they pull the strings. This is why large banks funded communist Russia, because  when you control the capital flow of money, you control the people who receive it. They want to solidify their power, by making people dependent on them. Free people are not dependent, but everything is so inverted, that some think government programs like welfare creates independence. It's like someone taking out a million dollar loan and claiming they are a millionaire. No they are a million dollars in debt to the lender, just like welfare recipients are in debt to the government. Not that they will pay it back, but they will always vote for those who offer bigger government. That's the democratic base to an extent.
