What is you thought(s) on this work policy?

This is fucking ridiculous for several reasons.

1. If I have a pound of cheese a day habit, can I take a week off for the same symptoms?

2. PMS effects every woman differently. My mother was a raging lunatic; however, I would never notice my wife's five days of misery if not for the 'no touch' rule or the box of cotton tipped torpedoes discretely placed next to the toilet. The truly bizarre part is that my wife will be the first to admit she is more horny during this time. Another 'design' problem.

3. How do you track the five days to be fair to the employer? Do women get five working days off? Or do they only get days off work that actually coincide with work days? Surely the argument isn't "I was afflicted over the weekend and couldn't enjoy my time off; therefore, I deserve the next Monday and Tuesday off". How could anyone reasonably track it?

4. The article started with a claim that this was an effort to destigmatize menstrual periods. Who the fuck ever stigmatized menstrual periods? This hints at a solution looking for a problem.

Normally I'd agree with this, but when you're passing two or more blood clots the size of golf balls every hour, leaving the house isn't an option.

That's specifically why I made a distinction between normal menstrual bleeding and exceptional conditions in my post, and stated that they should be handled differently. I guess you must have forgotten to quote that part of my response or simply overlooked it.

What I'm describing in the quote above, is how I personally handle my painful, yet essentially normal menstrual period.

It's clear to me that passing several golf-ball sized clots every hour on the hour would be not be considered normal menstrual bleeding and indicative of an underlying illness or condition of some sort.

That happened to me and it took a lot of convincing on my part to get my family doc to send me to an ob/gyn. Once there, two visits and they were suggesting the ablation and tubal. I jumped on that right away. Why the family doc didn't see that this wasn't normal, is beyond me.

Well if it spreads to the US there will be major problems for the women in the military, since they are supposed to be in combat units.  How does the Israeli military handle this situation?

Their women soldiers are unclean until sunset, and they have to burn a pigeon on the sabbath. (this was a compromise with the Ultra-Orthodox faction for admitting women in the first place)
