Seriously, the eternal torture thing doesn't make any sense at all. If the stakes were that high it would make sense that the God implementing it would be a bit more clear about things.

I'm not sure if I am fully understanding your question. Although at the end you say if God himself provided proof, please give it to me, and which god is it?

If their were three steps you had to do to find your 'proof.' would you do them?

Stop fucking with him/us. What are these 3 mythical steps? Why can't he/we know the answer prior to agreeing? Is this some kind of fucked up test to prove/argue faith, therefore god?

Here is all I've ever heard from theists as "evidence", none of which is actually credible evidence:

1) Anecdotes (useless)

2) Fallacious arguments, not backed up by any evidence (useless, even if they weren't fallacious)

3) Pointing at books and saying they are true (backed up by fallacious arguments)

I can't remember if I said already, but I have a guide to logical fallacies on my website here. It's meant to be user friendly, for people not familiar with logic as it pertains to arguments. You'll quickly see them being used like there's no tomorrow by any theist trying to make a non-trivial argument.

You should, because unicorn farts stink like nothing else on Earth. Sure, they look like sparkly rainbows and tinkle like a fairy harp when they emerge, but trust me it's every man for himself. I know, because I actually have a unicorn named Cyril and I have to keep her in an atmosphere-controlled paddock. Even then there's a hundred-foot radius around it in which nothing will grow.

Well....I don't think there is such a thing as evidence against god. But there is clear evidence against the claims that humans make about god or have been making.

Even the "intellectual" apologists fail the give real explanations. The talk about objective morality for days and how god can ground them. Jet if you press them to present you a list....stuff just starts to bend. The claim to have the objective standard....jet the can't seem to find it if you ask for it.

Is that evidence against god? Well, not really, but it is kind of make the claims rather empty.....don't you think?

There is some quite good evidence against there being a single God:

1) Most theists can't even define it coherently

2) If they do, you get a different version from each one, even ones in the same religion

3) Christians are so divided about what is important to their God that they have over 40,000 denominations

4) Even among one denomination of one religion, people have different ideas about what God likes and doesn't like

5) God is always described having very human-like characteristics and emotions

6) Many theists take insults against God very personally

7) If you ask a theist for God to give them any information they couldn't easily get another way, they never can

8) They think God needs their help to communicate

9) Each theists seems to know an awful lot about God, yet it doesn't correlate with what other theists say, and they often also claim he is unknowable...

10) Some theists whine because "we're shutting God out" of various things, as if God needs secular laws to line up with his will before he can do things

11) God always agrees with each theist, even when the theists disagree with each other

12) There's lots of religions, all with contradictory claims, and the "truth" people "know" about God is very highly correlated with what religion they happened to be surrounded by

13) He used to blow people up for the slightest indiscretion, now he lets me call him a pissmagnet all day long

14) God is supposed to have a perfect plan, yet he keeps having to interfere with things in order to correct it

15) Prayer is fucking stupid, it either does nothing, or else God needs humans' advice in order to act efficiently

16) Theists often claim you can't be moral without God yet atheists do juuuuuust fine

My idea is the same as Darkmatter's: God is an idealised version of the self.

General Dog, may a propose a suggestion?

Join a Christian forum, a Catholic forum, an Islamic forum, a Jewish forum, etc etc (for other major religions), and ask there what all their arguments/reasons are for the existence of their god(s). If you are genuine in your search for information on this issue, I think asking this question on theist forums would be a more logical approach. I don't think you're going to be able to gather much info at all asking a question like this on an atheist forum. There are only a handful of active theists here.
