Why does that sound so perverted, in a sado-masochistic sort of way?

Probably because it is. Don't you want to feel God's love deep inside you? Deep enough to make an impression on your heart.

Join a Christian forum, a Catholic forum, an Islamic forum, a Jewish forum, etc etc (for other major religions), and ask there what all their arguments/reasons are for the existence of their god(s). If you are genuine in your search for information on this issue, I think asking this question on theist forums would be a more logical approach. I don't think you're going to be able to gather much info at all asking a question like this on an atheist forum. There are only a handful of active theists here.
CL, I've run into more than a handful of theists, including you, since I joined this forum in December, and none of you have presented one single shred of evidence for your beliefs. If you think you have valid evidence, then why do you need to surround us tag-team style in order to make what you say appear credible? I think you know us well enough that when there's evidence, then we pay attention. It's when people attempt to substitute argument for the missing evidence that we laugh.

its not if any more. Not with gravity waves. The question is what kind of traits are we talking about. A dude dieing, waking up, and flying away is not how the universe works for us. yet.

Why doesn't he just tell us something that we
a) don't know already and
b) couldn't possibly be caused by something else?
The problem is that there are so many questions like this. Why did God take 7 days to create the earth? Why not just click his fingers and have it all snap into being instantly?
If he wanted everyone except Noah and his family to die, why not just strike them all down? Why instead have a 500 year old man build a massive boat, then create a flood for which not a scrap of evidence remains?
If he wanted a companion for Adam, why not just create one? Why - absurdly - would he manufacture a woman from a rib, of all things?
What you have is an unsatisfactory attitude to your own ignorance. You have no system to develop new ideas and throw out ones that don't work. If science is missing some understanding, we keep testing things and discarding hypotheses until we find a better fit. You are stuck with your original hypothesis, and you can't move on.
It doesn't move and it doesn't need changing, it works well.
GC
When was the last time you saw a 500 year old man doing anything except lying dead in a grave for over 350 years?
It doesn't "work" at all. It's absolute trash and you know it.

Please no; not the "dead baby" jokes...
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

I have made it very clear that I don't have evidence, and I'm not sure what you mean about me surrounding you tag team style.
I just don't understand why people ask questions like that on an atheist forum, that's all. There are so many better places to ask theist questions than on an atheist forum.

Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

I am sure he was speaking of theists in general. They are not here to agree with us.

For the same reason a theist shows up on an atheist forum. And most theist sites will dump an atheist like a hot potato.

Well then maybe it's better not to quote me and say "you" if he doesn't actually mean ME.

Theists show up on an atheist forum to ask theists a question about theism?
