Either way, the point is, at least in our community, women love to be taken care of and men love to take care of, so I doubt our trend would change.
Please stop sugarcoating the truth. It's not all rosy and dandy there for women in India.
And even in your community, whatever it is, the way you describe treating women reeks of manipulation and making sure they remain inferior to men by "keeping them happy as they are".

Sexism is good as long as it favors women, it's the transparent hypocrisy of our modern society. I didn't see a single outrage from men or women when I said I prefer to treat women like princesses,goddesses etc. Not that I don't like treating women as superior beings, it's the hypocrisy that gets to me.
I disagree. I think sexism is always bad. Also, you should just treat women like people.

Last year in Delhi, there were 800 cases of sexual assault and/or rape in the first 60 days. That's 13 times a day every single day in just 1 city.

Keeping women happy is one thing (not that this should solely be your burden to bear anyway as she needs to realize how to make herself happy as well), but making sure they are happy being pampered spoiled princesses does suggest that you'd rather they don't be treated as adult human beings. That is sexism, and IMO, also a form of misogyny (as this is often associated with resentment of women when they refuse to be happily inferior to men).

The scariest thought for me is how many rapes there were that went unreported or were reported but wrongly failed to be taken seriously. That must be only counting the actual successful rape charges right?
