Donald Trump will never get the presidency.
Here's why:
The people voting for him are the 30% of the population that are bigotted, ignorant, low information republicunts. There is practically no one, or hardly anyone that's on the fence of whether or not to support him, I garuntee you. Everyone who's not already supporting him either will vote for Hillary or refuse to vote. Donald's not gonna be picking up votes from moderates. It is very likely that the support he has now is all he will get.
Which is better:
To die with ignorance, or to live with intelligence?
Truth doesn't accommodate to personal opinions.
The choice is yours.

Trump is a winner. Romney is a loser.

On the other hand, they're both screaming twatwaffles. That's gotta count for something.

Everyone's a winner when we ignore all their losses.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

I believe the term you're looking for is "biting off one's nose to spite one's own face."
I can't bring myself to vote for Clinton, but I damned sure will vote against Trump. If the race is close, that means I'll punch "Hilary" on the ballot and repent at leisure. If she's winning by a comfortable margin, I'll do as I normally do and vote Libertarian -- Gary Johnson again, this year.
That's how I felt voting for Obama. I did so twice, even though I had to hold my nose to do so. It's not that I don't like and admire the man - I do - but I like a stronger person as President because it's a brutal job. The oval office isn't a place for someone who is too nice, IMO. I want someone who's heart is in the right place but who is fully capable of playing hardball when needed. That's Hillary, IMO.

I want someone smart enough to know the difference.

Bernie Sanders - Hope?
Bernie Sanders - Nope.
Ahhh Hillary. Now there's a girl who can dish. People make too much of her courting/accepting corporate support. Those guys want to grease whose ever wheels they think might win. There are no promises, explicit or otherwise which make a candidate beholding once they win office. But she'll pick her battles and spend what little political capital she many actually have wisely. She isn't exciting but she's the best chicken on the menu.
