The Married Atheist: yay or nay?
#11
RE: The Married Atheist: yay or nay?
Hey Rob.

I'm with Steel. If you are going to take this to the masses you need to develop a brand. A brand that will have broad appeal and possibly set you apart from other atheists tubers out there.

Try out different ideas here. If you're going to continue with the "(descriptive) atheist" try a bunch out. Angry, married, irritating, sad, deranged, humorious ..........

You might decide to drop "atheist". People in my world find the word threatening and off putting.

As always, good luck and best wishes!
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

LC, you are most certainly NOT an idiot. I rather love this idea, even if it's already been done before. Pure genius if you ask me. Heart

Alrighty, thanks for all the feedback everyone! I'm taking it on board and mulling it over.

I'll try and bring my videos together in a topic soon, so you can find them all in one place Smile

If I was gonna go with just Robvalue, which I do quite like, I'd have:

"With Robvalue, the value is built right in!"

No idea what it means Tongue

Stick with the married atheist theme, I pissed myself laughing at the irony. Keep filming in your kitchen with no gimmicks, remember the Gold blend couple? looking forward to the next vid.

IMO, you're rad on your own without some weird persona. IMO, "The Married Atheist" describes next to nothing about you. Sure, you're married, but that has little to do with the meat of what you say. Also, I hate hate hate monikers like "The____ ____". There are lots of atheists who are married. Why are you "the" one?

Rob, I think you're awesome. Stop trying to hide your natural awesomeness behind some weird character. Your vids are best when they're just... you, and you're really good at it. People relate with you, people think you're funny, and you're extremely intelligent, all of which are traits you have no lack of talent showing in your vids.

^^^ 100% Agreed. ^^^

No gimmicks needed. People subconsciously like a process with content, though. So develop that through trial and error. It doesn't have to be a rigid process, but just a storyboarded method to your madness.

I think your personality alone is enough to win the internet, Rob.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Wow, you guys are really wonderful! Thank you so much!

I can't tell you what all your kind words mean to me Heart

You inspire me to keep going and make more, better videos. My goals are to spread the foundations of rational thought, and to hopefully be a bit entertaining as well. And just be plain stupid sometimes Tongue

Again, thank you all! I really appreciate the support Smile

Sharing more about myself could certainly be another goal.

I'll hopefully be making a thread later today which houses and indexes all my decent videos so far, and I'll continue to add them to it. Then they won't be scattered all round the forum!
