Exactly  My   Heart .

@MrNoMorePropaganda:

The 11 stars were symbolized his brothers, the moon one of his more righteous brothers, and the Sun was Jacob who is the Leader and Guide who's light extends to all humans and Jinn.

The vision came true later on - in which - the very Surah states, this is the vision of his dream.

As for the rest, I suggest reading what else Islamic literature has to say about "skies" and "rain" and "water" and "earth" as metaphors of metaphysical realities of the spiritual world or the human soul. There is also an interesting hadith about God and "cloud".

If you are interested let me know, I will share some verses as well as ahadith about the issue.

If not, that's ok too.

MysticKnight, try telling your interpretation to the creator of this video:

And I quote th comments section:
"Ok , to end all the debating by people who read the comments just to amuse themselves , the verse predicts 11 planets at a time when people didn't know what a planet was. And "kowkab", the word for planet describes linguistically what a planet is in the best possible way. Both those facts are miraculous but the linguistic one can only really be appriciated by an arabic speaker , experienced with the uses of the word "kowkab"."

And:

"There are 11 real planets , and 2 dwarfs which include pluto , and asrtonomers debate wether they are planets or not again and again. And astronomers remove them from the list and then add them again. Mostly because , like you , they desperately desire to belie one of the Qur'ans 100s of miracles"

So it's not the Qurans fault that the Quran is wrong: it's the astronomers who aren't doing their job properly. Apparently astronomers who say there's not eleven planet do so because they hate the Quran. Like they think about Quran when they look for planets. It's .

Well, if reality contradicts a fairy-tale world created by primitive people with no understanding of how anything works, it's pretty clear reality is out of order and needs to buck up.

Why would the Quran use the words "stars", "sun" and "moon" If that's not what is meant? The moon is tiny compared to stars, and even the Earth so I'm at loss on this one. Surely the more righteous brother should be assigned a star and the less righteous should get the moon. Why can't religious books be easy to understand?

Easy. God chose to interact with very stupid people who couldn't possibly understand what he was really explaining to them. So instead of making them smarter, waiting for smarter people or indeed just making smart people in the first place, he mumbled incoherent rubbish to them so that it could later be interpreted to mean almost anything.

Salam

The Quran introduces the book which is full of parables:

إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَسْتَحْيِي أَنْ يَضْرِبَ مَثَلًا مَا بَعُوضَةً فَمَا فَوْقَهَا ۚ فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا فَيَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّهُ الْحَقُّ مِنْ رَبِّهِمْ ۖ وَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فَيَقُولُونَ مَاذَا أَرَادَ اللَّهُ بِهَٰذَا مَثَلًا ۘ يُضِلُّ بِهِ كَثِيرًا وَيَهْدِي بِهِ كَثِيرًا ۚ وَمَا يُضِلُّ بِهِ إِلَّا الْفَاسِقِينَ {26}

[Shakir 2:26] Surely Allah is not ashamed to set forth any parable-- (that of) a gnat or any thing above that; then as for those who believe, they know that it is the truth from their Lord, and as for those who disbelieve, they say: What is it that Allah means by this parable: He causes many to err by it and many He leads aright by it! but He does not cause to err by it (any) except the transgressors,

Obviously, this doesn't refer to the parables that God says "he strikes a parable that...." because those are obvious and disbelievers don't ask what is meant by those because they are indisputable, although it may includes a few of those.

It refers to parables that point to the inward truths, but disbelievers will not understand what is meant by them.  And it leads them astray obviously as the literal meanings are problematic but even the spiritual meanings take something called a "heart' to comprehend.

As these parables are essential to understand the Tawheed and Nubuwa and Wilayah with respect to these spiritual truths and the signs of the soul, and the Quranic unveiling of that reality, it's essential one awakens to them and is guided by them.

The moon as opposed to star just signifies what is greater in luminosity to others. Not the size.

Note: I'm not saying you are a disbeliever.
