help me with this. atheists in America make up 3% of the population (apx).
73% of Americans say they are christian with 62% saying they are affiliated with a church. (from what seems to be a non biased source). Other sources say at least 27% are fundamental Christians at that.
Now from what I am to understand Christians don't like the Roe vrs wade decision. (abortion)
they don't like the decision made in the Obergefell v. Hodges case. (gay marriage)
They probably are not happy with the Engel v. Vitale case either. (prayer in public school)
The group called freedom from religion foundation fights to keep the seperation of church and state all over the country. They seem to be doing a good job of it too. I'm sure the Christians aren't happy about that either.
As far as I know none of this is any concern of the big corperations and so their all too heavy vote doesn't really matter in these issues.
Why is it that with from such a small percentage of the population of atheists the Christians (and muslims in other countries) work so hard to fight against it? Have you ever been to a Christian book store? There is no shortage of volume on indoctrination, tips for arguing abortion, or ways to spread the word in your community.
Most people want to believe that we have a "special" purpose. Most folks want to believe in an after life. Most people want to think that we are more than just a lucky set of accidents.
By my math they should be able to crush the atheists like insects. Why doesn't this happen? What makes atheism strong enough to take on the giant?
