The Greeks were promised a miserable afterlife. The Egyptians were in peril after they died, with no guarantee of making it to immortality.
Today immortality is the carrot AND stick for religion. "Do what we tell you and you'll be in Heaven forever. Don't and you'll be in Hell forever." And they don't have to back up this claim, the believers do the heavy lifting when they assume faith.
Idiots.

You assumed the bold line, permanence of death that is. You actually don't know, and scientific evidence suggests another big bang btw, that if you follow the big crunch to the core. Being a possible scenario, the end might be another start.
You assumed; nothing more, nothing less. Your assumption will not have an effect on reality, never would it affect it too.
Reality is reality.
What's reality? it stops where your hope stops. If you hope to die forever, then that's your reality.
No one quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure the Big Crunch hypothesis has become less and less likely of a scenario in the eyes of current scientific opinion. I'm half asleep, and I'm not sure that sentence made sense syntax-wise, lol, sorry.

Afterlife, I'd be happy if it were true.....

I specifically remember having a mature adult conversation with myself when I was so young I still was with nappies on and in a cot.
I knew then that I have been reincarnated. I gave myself some specific details as proof of this and told myself not to forget this stuff!
I couldn't write anything down because I was still a baby. What I cannot remember is whether I was the same "me" talking or someone else?
You probably think this is just another silly thing that I write, but it isn't. I will swear that I believe the above to be true on my wife's life!
Even though I now choose to ignore its significance, This experience will always be with me. Weird huh?
What could be some other non woo explanations?
I know it's an uphill battle to try to reconcile this experience with what we know in science so I won't even try to.
Even if it is real, I will still not relate any of this to religion. No reason to. I don't care to.
Any thoughts guys?
That's very fun and interesting! I wish you could remember more details!
