I agree. However, the real action will be in the down-ticket congressional elections. Clinton winning will do us little good if it results in four more years of GOP obstruction and fuckery at every turn. So I say to all who are thinking of staying home on election day because you don't care for either Presidential choice, not voting in your state's congressional elections is a tacit endorsement of the status quo.

I'll take that little good over the world of hurt electing Trump would likely give us.

It's hard to see what Trump being elected would do to anything except our reputation...which is already so deep in the shitter you couldn't slip a piece of rice paper under it.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I'll take it too. I'd just rather see more than a little good come of a Clinton presidency, and that can't happen so long as the GOP has a strangle-hold on the House.

Appointing Supreme Court judges is something.  Further deregulating business so that it is easier to poison the air and water and steal the life savings of normal people.  Ensure that we make no progress on global warming.  And, as already mentioned, throw our military around in unpredictable ways.  There is much that Trump would likely make worse than Hillary would.

Really you just have to have a cynical bring-on-the-armageddon longing to live in a post industrial dystopia to vote for Trump. That or just be very, very out of touch.

I'm really tired of this "lesser of evils" non-sense. Most of you spouting this crap are speaking emotionally, not logically. It's fine if you don't like Hillary but it's idiotic to make like there's little difference between her and Trump. The differences are massive.

1. SCOTUS and Circuit Judge Appointments: This by itself is huge. These are lifetime appointments; the judges will be affecting policy long after the President who appointed them is gone. Hillary is going to appoint judges like Ruth Ginsberg. I don't think anyone has any idea of the type of judge Trump would appoint. You want to risk 3 or 4 more like Sam Alito?

The next President is going to determine the makeup of the SCOTUS for decades. This will impact separation of church and state, LGBT rights, women's rights, health care, and money in politics to just name a few. If this by itself doesn't motivate you to vote for Hillary then you are a damn fool.

2. Foreign Policy: Like Bill Clinton was, Hillary is highly respected overseas. Just as world leaders didn't give a shit about Monica Lewinski, they don't much care about Benghazi or private e-mail servers either. On the other hand, they have already come out and openly stated that they have no respect for Trump and would distance themselves from the US if he is elected. The UK - our closest ally - has gone so far as to consider banning him from entering their country. This isn't the lesser of evils, folks. This is night and day.

3. Economy: Hillary is in favor of raising the minimum wage to $12.50/hour. That would be the biggest bump in history. Trump on the other hand is a plutocrat and bad businessman. He's done nothing with the fortune he inherited but fail in one business venture after another. He's declared bankruptcy 3 times. The best thing that can be said for him is that he's managed to break even so as to not to go broke. Economic experts have said some of his ideas on dealing with the national debt would literally destroy the economy.

And this is just for starters. In the areas of race relations, environmental policy and scientific literacy just to name a few, it's night and day between the two candidates. There is no contest at all.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

The radicals actually move their asses to the voting booths. The moderates, the less appealing the alternative is, rather stay at home.

That's why I still pinch my nose to cast a vote. Not because I like some candidate or party, but because I want to make sure I done my part in preventing what's even worse. I'm allowed to vote for 35 years now and never have I voted for someone or something. Always against the alternative, which I considered even less desirable.

That said, for the world, Trump would be the far worse president because he would run the US into the ground. Certainly economically, maybe violently by starting a GungHo war adventure which can only lead to disaster. There isn't even the mitigating factor of Shrub, since Trump already surrounded himself with a first class selection of idiots as so called advisors.
And I really don't think he'll have any qualms about using nukes.

He could ruin the economy, just for starters. As opposed to his loud mouth, he's not the sharpest tool in the business world. Only when it came to wiggling out of bankrupcy and it's obligations, he was rather shrewd. And, didn't he just say something to that effect? That he is the master of debt and is planning to run the country like he runs his business? Have you any idea what a statement like that does to the global market and the trust in the dollar, if he's indeed elected? Better fasten your seatbelts, is all I can say. That goes for all of us, around the globe.

A Trump win coupled with dem landslides in both the house and senate making them able to overide vetoes.  Might be  a not too bad outcome.

Hillary stymied at every turn like Obama has been with pubs in the house and senate constipating everything  isn't going to make me very happy.

It is important that we do something about the congressional predicament. A Trump administration stymied by a dem congress won't be any better as far as implementing policy.
