I believe the media to be largely at fault.  The 'sheeple' of America will usually ignore the third party as the media promotes (depending on bias) the two major parties and downplays the third.  The 'sheeple' being afraid to 'waste' their vote on the third party, inevitably got for "the lesser of two evils".

The problem is the majority suffrage. During the 80ies, green parties made it into the parliaments of most Western countries. Although their coverage was as bad as it is in America. The winner takes it all system cements the two party system. When it comes to presidential elections, you can just as well flush your vote down the toilet as voting for a third party candidate. The effect is the same.

That rather extreme libertarianism.  I wouldn't go there.

There's a difference between liberal and libertarian, just as there is between socialism and social democracy. European definitions, since I find the American terms skewed towards an agenda.

Liberal means granting individuals rights to privacy and to persue their own goals in life, without the state interfering. Libertarianism is totally laissez faire, geared towards the fairy tale of a self regulating market. Neo conservatism might be the more appropriate term for that, since it's rather about every man for himself than promoting any kind of community. Ayn Rand isn't off the charts to describe that kind of view.

Liberatian does not mean liberal. Nor does it mean conservative. It means as few governmental restrictions as possible both socially and economically. Ayn Rand and others take this idea to an extreme that I do not. I am libertarian not anarchist. And I do believe some economic regulation is necessary, just far less than either the democrats other the repunlicans.

How much regulation are the repubs supposed to think is necessary?  Their mantra has been deregulation for some time now. The difference between you as a libertarian and a repub probably isn't economic. It's almost -certainly- social.
(I feel for you, btw, libertarianism has become so useful as a cover for far right conservatism that even the libertarian party can't fight the spin - here in the US.)

No. Donald Trump is not a builder. Donald Trump could not build a doghouse. Donald Trump is a developer who pays what he would call “very, very smart people” to build things on his behalf. His response to Ramos’ question was meant both to exaggerate his understanding of construction and to downplay the challenges posed by his border wall project.

I can only assume that anyone who thinks he will actually build such a wall is a complete asshole.

I read his book "The Art of the Comeback" in which he betrayed his utter ignorance of the safety measures used to enable tall buildings to withstand the high wind velocities. He called it poor construction.

Where is your candidate? Until that person has a name recognizable by more than 6 people, they are not an alternative.

That last bit is quite true. It doesn't really leave me with a political name, unless I want to smash together socially democract fiscally republican. But even that isn't quite true. Republicans talk about deregulation, but they appear to be in favor of deregulation if it benefits corporate America but not if it benefits individual employees or smaller businesses. They like protectionism, emimant domain for private gain, crony capitalism, and licensing to protect existing business in practice. That is what Trump's wall and 45% tarriff are about. But you are right that I wouldn't throw banking regs, environmental laws, social security, or a host of other regs out the window.

I think that there are alot of us who feel left out, by these little political in-groups..or that their strictures are unwieldy.  

I think that all of the basic necessities of life in a 1st world country should be taken for granted by it's citizens.  That no one should have to wonder whether they make enough money for enough bread and water to keep them alive, or for enough of a roof to keep them from freezing.  People tell me that this means I'm not a fiscal conservative......but they're wrong.  I just know, for a fact, that we can afford to do that, lol.
