How intelligent am I?

I think it's pretty easy to sound intelligent in a forum, use big words and agree with the majority of people's political and religious opinions and someone's bound to think you're clever.

The only people who I can say I've judged their intelligence to be above average in this forum in any concrete definite way is that German guy who's good at maths (forgot his name) and I'm guessing the creator of this forum must be pretty intelligent in applying computer knowledge in this way. No one else comes to mind off the top of my head.

There's people who I admire what they post and I have shares opinions with in some topics but I can't say people are intelligent just because they agree with me or I like them.

Yeah strong mathematical ability does tend to correlate with advanced comprehension skills. Same goes for computer programming (at the very least Tibbers is very competent at both).

I find Boru to be intelligent. We've had a lot of disagreements on different subjects, especially Northern Ireland but I have a lot of respect for him.

Napoleon is incredibly intelligent as well. Wish he was active more.

If intelligence was a sport, there would be more categories than the Olympic games. Who would be the overall winner?
The best swimmer, the best archer, the best boxer, the best runner. No one is ever the best at them all.
So it doesn't matter.
There are a lot of living creatures on this planet. Most humans are smarter than any other creature.
So almost every human is intelligent.
That's my view.

Definitely one way of looking at it.

I would certainly agree that there are many different completely diverse categories to have a high level of comprehension about in speed and/or depth of understanding.

I believe intelligence is about both potential/unlocked/depth/'profundity' of comprehension and also the speed of that comprehension.

But indeed there are so many things we can be competent about or 'kinds of intelligences'.

When it comes to animals, yeah humans kind of cheat by being the only animal on the planet capable of defining intelligence in the first place which kind of makes our self-defined intelligence circular or self-referential.

When it comes to comprehension skills we are definitely higher than other animals though! Many animals can definitely be more skilled than us in many ways including memory, but comprehension speed and depth (at least intellectually speaking) is not one of them.

P.S. I also believe 'it takes one to know one' or IOW only intelligent people can tell the difference between high level comprehension and merely trying to look smart.
