Can I just say, and I'm just being honest...
RE: Can I just say, and I'm just being honest...
CIJS....

Someone should consider creating a quasi-serious, unofficial AF Personals thread, so members can have a set place to post "profiles". In addition to regular posters, there are plenty of lurkers who might actually shoot persons of interests a PM.

Who knows? Someone might get lucky. Tongue

If you don't want to be the Invisible Man, make yourself noticeable.

Nah...I'm not spreading any magic. But, I'd love to watch it go down.
That'd make for some good goddamned forum browsing, for sure.

I know... I have to admit... I'm rather jealous of the couples that we have here. What I wouldn't give to have that in my own life.

I love conversation in any form and when I can read someone's written word - for some reason, it speaks mounds to me as to how they are intellectually. And it's a definitely a plus for me that I can read someone at the same level as myself. I'm probably not making much sense, but I guess what it boils down to for me is that if you have better than average reading and writing skills, it goes a long way with me.

I'm not the greatest with math, but I do consider myself to have a love of reading and writing that I take pretty seriously. If I could match wits with someone here in that department and further that into an actual relationship one day, it'd be just lovely.

Yeah...you've got the right idea. Now get to work on that, Jello!

CIJS- if an image of a woman in an open robe nursing her baby is something you consider "sexualized", you've got more problems than just shitty opinions, sicko

CIJS;

don't know who you were, or even the name of your company, but I was crawling around one of your modular houses from the early 70s recently and I'm kinda impressed. Yeah, it is showing it's age, and it's needed some intensive repairs over the years (a new roof structure being the biggee) but it's basically the same house. The floor plan isn't quite the 'open' plan Tarek and Christina love, but it's close, galley kitchen opens into dining area, 90 degrees to an amazingly large living room. Back end of the kitchen is a pantry area with an outside back door to the place, and the living room front door is opposite. 3 bedrooms, one with it's own full master bathroom, and all three bedrooms are the same size. Every bedroom has a closet, the main hallway has one, and the other bathroom has a linen closet. The pantry has room and connections for a washer dryer (full size separates). One bedroom has 2 doors, one into the living room adjacent to the front door, and another to the main hallway. I think the idea is that room could be an office or a bedroom.

Most all the appliances have been replaced, more than twice. They've added a deck in front and a nice screened porch on the back. And yes, the interior 70s porn film paneling is still up in some places, and in others, it's been painted over. Ceiling is waterstained, that's what prompted the roof over the roof. And the wiring has had a modest update back in the 90s. Fortunately, unlike some from that era, none of the wiring to the plugins or light switches was aluminum. They've added a fireplace, and it was long enough ago it looks appropriate. I think the windows are original, but it's likely the original owner might have had an option for better ones than standard when he bought it, they've held up well. It never had central air (just forced air heat) but there's a powerful window air conditioner in the living room that cools half of it well enough.

Biggest issue is the uneven floor. There is a tiny cramped crawl space beneath that no one has entered in decades, it is assumed some of the cement block piers hold things up have settled a bit. The plumbing has held up, surprisingly, although the lack of shut off valves at the sinks and toilets and tubs has been annoying. The carpeting has been replaced, the original was very short lived.

The kitchen, while small, is a galley arrangement that works well enough. Fortunately, the cabinets stop at the spot for the fridge, so over the years as larger ones were brought in, they just spread a little further into the dining nook, no trimming of cabinets needed. The wiring for the kitchen is modest, running the microwave and much of anything else at the same time isn't a good idea. The dining area has a table and 4 chairs, and enough room to walk around them, so big enough.

I didn't think to ask if anyone remembered the original price, I'm sure it wasn't much, and they definitely got their moneys worth. A lasting benefit, when it was hauled in they straightened and leveled the driveway to bring in the pieces. It's been a real help ever since.

Their wish list is modest, they always wanted a sliding glass door to the screened in porch but never did it. A larger window looking over the pond would have been nice. For some reason, a mirror image flip of the pantry (washer dryer space on the other wall swapped with the shelves and cabinets) and in the main bath the space around the toilet is tight, also, both bath tubs (master bedroom includes shower) are short and shallow. All 3 bedrooms have double beds, might have wished for 2 sets of bunks in one bedroom as the years pass the number of grandkids has swelled and the surplus get to sleep in sleeping bags in the screened porch.

No attached garage, in fact, no specific garage at all, just a farm shed that could hold some cars if need by, but it's an 1/8 of a mile away. Plenty of parking though for parties. There are several big trees around, and they have maintained them well, no big branches have ever fallen and damaged it. No sidewalks, however.

I'm really drawn to the place, a friendly vacation home preserved from well over 40 years ago. It's like a place you vacationed at when you were a kid, some distant relatives your parents knew really well, and you as a kid, just had a great time meeting your cousins there for the best vacation you ever had.

What a wonderful, revolutionary idea. If only I had thought of that sooner.

Sorry, but that's like saying if you don't want to starve to death, eat some food. Simple and obvious, but not always feasible. For me, in my experience, the food is beyond my reach. Because I've fucking tried, again and again.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Vic, I love you. You know that. You're a great person. Seriously. You're terrific. But, darlin, can I just say?

You done fucked up. You had a chance - ha! many chances, many more than a lot of people get. You had multiple fucking chances on multiple fucking occasions... and you let them go. You fucked up.

You could be one happy camper right now. But you fucked up. So instead you're just remembering all the times you did. And dreaming that you hadn't. But it's too late. The opportunity got away.

The best thing you can do about this is use it as fuel for the future. Whenever you see a window of opportunity, you should fucking seize it, man. Whenever you're too chicken to do it, just remember his face.

You. Done. Goofed.
