Just a heads up.

I don't know what being addicted feels like. I feel like maybe actually this was a terrible idea and I don't wanna. But it's not because I'm like itching for a fix. I don't think. It's just because it hasn't been 24 hours and my everything hurts. My clothes touching my skin hurts for example. <--that's not crazy talk either I feel that way sometimes. Random things that shouldn't hurt do. Especially bra straps and purses. Luckily, I don't need either of those in here. I can't open my own bottle of water because it hurts my hand to grip the cap. These are small frustrating pains. I won't tell you about my knees because I'm more afraid of how they'll feel tomorrow. Same for my back. Bahh. What sucks more than anything about fibro is that you look fine and you always feel like people think you're actually just nuts. I'm rambling so I'll just shut up now.

I surely don't want to do this slowly though. By half 10 days. Fuck. I need to get off so I can start something new right? 30 days of this doesn't sound manageable and it's only bound to get worse from here.

As far as I know 12.5 mcg is the lowest dose patch available, and I've actually heard of folks successfully self-administering a partial dose of that. Again, non-gel only.
You're not bound by the standards of practice in a clinical setting. The timeline can be adjusted to address your needs/requirements as an individual, but you need suitable patches for weaning, regardless.

Hopefully that'll be the worst of it.

Okay, it sounds like physical addiction/withdrawal, but the bright side is that you won't have mental cravings after the physical issues that can be addressed are addressed.

I have no experience, personal or vicarious, with FM, so I'm pretty ignorant of alternative therapies for it. Hopefully some are available to you, hon.

Fibromyalgia is certainly no joke. People who don't get that should just read more.

It was a good decision to try and make a go of it without the Fentanyl. Cold turkey just probably wasn't the best approach, considering the dose you were taking and the amount of time were on it. It's just going to take a little more time than you hoped to get off of it, is all.

You've definitely got the right idea, though. You'll get there.

More awesome. Going for the gusto, huh. Now make plans to go on vacation or buy a yacht with all the money you're not spending on meds.

I should note that weaning for very high doses is often done in 25mcg increments. The patients I know/have known of taking doses of 100 mcg or more were all on hospice and had no need for weaning, though.

Keep in contact with your physicians. If withdrawal becomes to intense, there are other medications designed for induction and maintenance of opiate withdrawal that they may consider.

Set yourself up with the least amount of stimulus that you can. Dark room, low noise (white noise, boring infomercial), right temp, no phone, no tactile, no AF, ...................
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

Basically I'm an idiot and I'm going to stay at 37.5 until I no longer want to die. Or maybe forever. Why did I think of this idea again?
