I was confirmed in the Catholic Church, also; just remember, a lot of churchmen don't believe in any of it.  Quite a few are homosexuals (not a bad thing) but just as many are pedophiles (not a good thing, so watch yourself.)

If you can be disruptive without repercussions, then go for it.

I was confirmed in the United Methodist Church before I had told my parents that I didn't believe in God, and it literally had no impact on my life, other than the church pamphlets they kept mailing me for several years. I did it to please the parents, and it was no big deal. Just go through the motions for your parents, and then officially leave the church at your earliest convenience.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell
