There is no such thing as majority or minority. There is only geography that sets up those constructs. Of course a local majority is going to ignore a minority. Jews in Israel want their population well defended. Muslims also want their populations well defended, and Christians want their populations well defended.

The problem with all of humanity is that the planet isn't expandable.

Guns and war do not reflect morality in our species, they reflect our impatience.

WTF are you talking about? I'm talking about a greater number of the gun club joiners that get guns (majoirty) not taking the extra steps to qualify for concealed/open carry. A fewer number will take the steps (minority).

I understand their wish for safety and the desire to defend themselves when being attacked. But, as always, just think of what would have happened if many people had been armed in that club. Probably dark, obviously crowded, hardly any one of them with combat training, understandably panicked. I guess there would have been even more victims, due to friendly fire.

I think bad drivers are more dangerous. I haven't been shot at in years, I almost went into the median barrier recently trying to avoid 2 dueling lane hoppers.

Which is why I bring up the FBI report in that Daily Show clip, written by the head of ALERRT'S Pete Blair. The  odds of civilian with no cop or military crisis shooting training successfully stopping an active shooter is only 3%. The odds of injury or death in the home from use of a gun is far greater.

And no record at time of buy doesn't stop the person from hurting themselves or someone else after a legal purchase.

You know, the NRA is an example of an organization that can be beaten by joining it. It's board of directors is elected, and they elect the NRA president. With a membership that probably does not exceed 5 million, I think the NRA is vulnerable to having its positions moderated by a large number of new members who advocate for change. I bet just 50,000 could get at least one board member sympathetic to them in.

Since the NRA was much less extreme when I was a boy (mainly a firearm safety organization), the theme could be 'Make the NRA Great Again'.

Are you nuts? They don't even listen to a majority of there members. If it still was what it started out as sure, but it is way beyond any salvage now. No, it needs to go extinct. People buy into them out of  gullibility because of their fear marketing. There is no saving a rabid raccoon.
