Well, of course she's another lunatic - she's from the "Leave" crowd. Nobody wants those morons in charge of the process they just managed to con half the country into voting for, right? Not even they themselves. Sure, demagogues, loons and idiots are fine for stirring sh*t up, but for actual governing and stuff - we all know, it seems, on which side of the EU debate were the politicians with any idea about it...
Plus - in a few years, when it's obvious to everyone, that the optimistic predictions made by the Brexiteers were just wishful thinking/blatant lies - it will be easy to blame the pro-EU politicians left in charge of separation from EU.

That's not the reason she's a lunatic. Her opposition to abortion laws, gay marriage rights and her views on the UK being a Christian country are more what i was referring to.

No vested interest? You do realize that the UK doesn't exist in a vacuum, don't you? My wife and I personally lost a few thousand dollars in our 401K the day after the Brexit, and we're in the U.S. My parents also lost thousands, too. You see, it's this kind of rhetoric coming from the Brexit crowd that makes me feel as if they did not think this through.
The global economy is everyone's vested interest, and I find it frightening that don't seem to grasp that.

Well, pardon fucking me if your guess isn't very comforting to those of us that didn't have a say in the matter. This was not a decision to make based on how you think it's going to turn out.
I reiterate, can you imagine the vitriol we Americans would get if we tanked the economy with a vote and all we had to offer was "my guess is we'll be stronger?" Yet you Brexiters think everyone else should just shut their mouths about it and accept your vote as if it's going to have no effect on us at all. Sorry to burst your bubble, but you don't live in a vacuum, and your choices have real consequences. Try to think about that next time you step into the voting booth.
Rather than reading and responding to one or two posts, try going back through the thread where you can read my reasons for voting out.
You invested money in the stock markets, thus you can expect your money to either increase or decrease depending on a variety of different factors.
Just to be perfectly clear; if you think short term economics and you losing a paltry couple of thousand fucking dollars would have changed my vote, in what was the biggest referendum of my lifetime, you're sorely fucking mistaken pal.
Hope that helps.

Brexit was false promises in the place of common sense economics.

The economic expert consensus is that Brexit is bad for the economy. Brexiteers are not comparing a long term financial future of the result of Brexit against what it could have been if Brexit hadn't happened.

It's ifs and maybes. If we can secure better trade deals and when that occurs, the UK economy will be ok. I still firmly believe it *will* be ok, but when I don't know, and the short and probably medium term is going to be a bumpy ride, with some high impacting fall out.

Why did you bold the word expert there?

Isn't Theresa May the one who sent that guy back to Africa to stand trial for killing his wife? The one that had zero credible evidence yet she thought it was worth driving him insane over?
Yes, she was. Fucking bitch. I don't want her in charge of anything more important than a can of beans.

Yes, I imagined as much. I was merely commenting on the fact, that the main politicians associated with the "Leave" campaign - Johnson, Gove, Leadsom, Farage - are now fairly unanimously considered too wacky, ill-equipped, or untrustworthy to make important political decisions. Seems to me like the country went into damage control mode, which is why Teresa May now seems to be the most likely candidate for leadership, even though on the face of it she was "wrong" about leaving the EU in the first place.
Anyhoo - apparently Angela Leadsom's supporters are now called "Lead-bangers", which is all sorts of funny...
