UK to leave EU
RE: UK to leave EU
Rationality is about learning to accept and live with one's subjectivity and irrationality as much as it is about being objective and rational.

Sure, whatever you say. All's fine, bro.

Indeed! Big Grin

Trying to be more rational than we are capable of being would be irrational.

What's that supposed to mean?

In 2014 the choice was be independent but still in the EU or stay part of the UK and still be in the EU. The latter choice won partly because people didn't want to risk leaving the EU.

Now the UK has taken us out of the EU despite every region in Scotland voting to stay in it. And IndyRef2 will result in a vote to leave the UK because people want to stay in the EU.
I will bare my arse in woolworths window if the EU accept Scotland as an independent country, especially while little Jimmy Krankie is doing the negotiations.

So, prepare to stay true to your promise. They will accept Scotland, though not as easily as Marthilda seems to believe. They have to announce their wish to join and then the usual procedure will take it's course. If they meet the requirements, there's nothing from preventing them to join. If Scotland leaves the UK, it's an independent state. Hence, open to join the EU, following correct procedure.

Scotland never wanted to be a part of the common market, history check mate.

Yeah I knew that you were going to come up with that non-argument. That vote was 1975. A country is made up of people. People are born and die. A large proportion of the people who voted in 1975 are dead now and a large proportion of today's electorate weren't even alive back then or certainly were unable to vote. I was only 1 year old then. Your argument is just as valid as saying that Scotland wants a Catholic king to rule Britain.

History check mate? Contrived argument from history more like.

Which currency would Scotland prefer to enter the EU with? Pound? Euro? Haggis? a couple of years ago you could have voted to be independent and arguing your case for remaining in the EU, what happened there? what I am saying is make up your minds what and who you want to be.

And you don't even stop to consider that things have changed radically these last days?

What like noises coming out of Europe to back up why we are leaving? some community eh? Euro bullies trying to scare people into thinking they made the wrong choice, we need a strong prime minister now to take them on, and not let them get away with it any longer. Scotland needs to stay and unite this great kingdom, not kiss arse in Brussels.
