Texas gets bitch slapped on abortion!

RE: Texas gets bitch slapped on abortion!
A related story.

"Conservatives were disappointed and liberals were encouraged by the Supreme Court decision Tuesday to reject an appeal in a case involving the sale of emergency contraceptives and religious liberty. "

Now to shoot down all the other states that have followed their example.

This decision vacates all similar laws.

It doesn't, but it does set the legal precedent for these similar laws in other states to successfully be challenged.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Not immediately, you're absolutely right. But even as we discuss this, various states are reviewing their laws and looking at potential litigation.

Thanks for the correction, it doesn't vacate them immediately. But it makes them indefensible legally.

Why i find hypocritical is they want to protect a fetus when their bible says abortions are A OKAY but when the fetus leaves
the female they care fuck the child could go and die from sickness grow up then join the military and same said people
would be rooting for them to go to war and potentially maimed or killed. When said same person comes back from
war they don't get a lick of respect and rinse wash and repeat. And they are perfectly fine with death sentences
so why the fuck are they pro life anyways.

Years ago when Jim Crow was dying some nut thought that abortion would be the perfect wedge issue.

"Ronald Reagan’s advisers were the first to see the possibilities of uniting conservative Catholics and evangelical Protestants using abortion. A Protestant pastor in Virginia, Jerry Falwell, made common cause with Catholics — a faith that earlier generations of evangelicals had feared and shunned for ethnic as well as theological reasons."

Quote:A federal judge on Thursday blocked an Indiana law prohibiting abortions based on genetic abnormalities, according to court documents.
U.S. District Court Judge Tanya Walton Pratt granted a preliminary injunction sought by Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky, which argued that the new state law was unconstitutional and violated women’s rights. The law was due to go into effect on Friday.
The American Civil Liberties Union sued the state on behalf of Planned Parenthood.

To be fair, plenty of us have invited Indiana to go fuck itself over the years. Have you ever driven through Indianapolis? Is not as bad as Memphis, but bleeding Christ for such a small city, such a huge traffic problem.

How will governor Brownback make up the shortfall this causes in his "budget?'  Maybe he'll go steal lunch money from pre-schoolers?
