I see your point. But does that mean, that god considered it acceptable for Adam to f*ck the defenseless animals, like sheep, chickens, or hamsters? Why didn't they get something like - I don't know - toothy a**holes?

The thought of Cain and Abel as shepherd boys with their crooked staffs having to contend with velociraptors. Brontosaur's stomping their grape vines.

The thought that anyone in the 21st century is this blind by faith seriously disturbs me.

Can't help myself....abel would have been -herding- velociraptors (except..obviously, no one but ken ham and his modern day buddies would insert this into the story), he had no time for grape vines...that was kind of the point of contention between himself, his brother, and god which ended with the murder of abel and the truest words spoken in the entire biblical narrative "am I my brothers keeper?".     

The authors of this narrative saw -farming- as horrific.....as a curse from god.  Herding raptors, if they'd conceptualized it as such (which they didn't) was...in comparison, the right way to live.They didn't worry about stomping on grape vines...to some extent, that would have been seen as a pleasantry, lol.  Sticking it to those fucking farmers and their little fences. It;s really not that different from the more modern dynamic between ranchers and farmers in the american west...before the advent of barbed wire.

(the names cain and abel probably mean..respectively...farmer and shepherd..reread the story with that in mind and the purpose of the story becomes glaringly obvious. Divine sanction for the authors way of life, and divine condemnation for the ways of the "others".)

-The business with the big boat was just something they picked up along the way, syncretism. It didn't sound idiotic to them because the culture in which the story was related wasn't exactly known for it's boat building know-how. The cain and abel narrative, otoh, is informative as to their cultural value judgements.
