I don't know, honestly I can't even be friends with someone that thinks he is a good leader.

Consider yourself lucky if you aren't related to any.  As far as I know, you can't annul your birth family.

Yes I am but I'm pretty sure I ruined my relationship with my godmother over the Trump shit but when a full blooded German says that refugees need to stay in their own countries and when asked where should they stay in those countries in civil war she says in camps it is very hard not to point out the Nazi similarities.

I'm not a Trump supporter, but meh. The article clearly says Schwartz is a life long liberal, so I don't expect him to be a fan of the Republican nominee. He's also not saying anything that anybody else hasn't and doesn't really provide any particular insights. In fact a lot of it is speculation. "I seriously doubt that....." "I would imagine that......" That's just speculation that anybody could do. It's just the normal talking points repeated, except by a ghostwriter who was writing a non-political book. So, meh.

That slur was started against Goldwater by LBJ, who subsequently dragged us into Vietnam. So fuck LBJ for starting it. Subsequently it's been used against Nixon, Reagan, Bush II, McCain and now Trump. It's always been a bunch of shit and nobody who says it should be taken seriously. It's especially awful considering that people are soooo offended by Trump, and yet say possibly the worst, most offensive thing that can be said about someone, that he will end the planet. This is despite the fact Trump is to the left of Hillary when it comes to foreign policy issues.

I hate to be in the position of defending Trump. I find him awful and embarrasing, both personality wise and in terms of his politics. I think domestically and for the economy, Hillary is far superior. But fuck anyone who uses the nuclear war slur. I can't take anyone serious who opens with that accusation. Its a vile, awful, offensive thing to say. Far more offensive then anything Trump has said.

Also considering that people so often accuse Trump of playing to people's fears, what the fuck??? This is the ultimate in fear mongering. You don't get to whine about Trump being a fear monger and then say something like this.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the idea of a typical Trump supporter actually reading The New Yorker -- or much of anything else.
