Really? So why the f*ck don't they? How come we don't hear about mass shootings in US, where the shooter is stopped by an armed civilian, rather than by the police, or suicide? Is it because Yanks can't use guns? Or is it because what you're saying is utter bullsh*t?
Mass-murders usually happen in places where guns aren't allowed: school and work. I'm not saying that's the only reason these murderers aren't stopped, but surely the absence of opposing firepower could help explain the lack of opposing these killers. I think only the Giffords shooting saw someone with a gun ready to oppose the shooter -- but because of the circumstances, he realized he couldn't get a clean shot and withheld fire for fear of adding more casualties. No doubt a wise choice.
