Twenty-six years ago today ...

RE: Twenty-six years ago today ...
Your writing isn't really compelling as it is. I think it needs a do-over, or a lot more editing at the very least.

Is this autobiographical or fiction?

Your thoughts and musings compelling aren't compelling. I'm serious.

You're sad. You're mean.
You will die alone.

Oh yes, you will die...Only dumb babies think they'll live forever.

Thumpa, I was providing honest criticism. I also like a lot about your writing, but I tend to focus on the things that I find lacking. You're obviously very smart, have a very large vocabulary, and can provide a good narrative, at least technically speaking. I just think this particular piece of text didn't arouse anything in me, nor did it make me want to keep reading after a while. This is just my opinion, it's entirely possible other people will judge it differently.

It saddens me beyond words that you can summon that level of malice against me. Nothing else to say other than that, I'm afraid.

I summoned no malice against you, Drama...everyone dies.
And you are a very unpleasant person. I'm sure that alienates you from others, IRL.

I suppose you find it cruel when anyone other than you "tells it like it is", though.

Oh, I guess that makes it ok then.

Anyway, I don't want to derail this thread, so if you have anything else to tell me I encourage you to do it either via PM or here http://atheistforums.org/thread-41611.html

But just FYI, I'm not delusional about death. I just think it's a little over the top to tell people they're going to die, like you enjoy the fact, but you're saying it wasn't malice, you were just doing what you thought I was. Ok. Smile

Yeah, fascinating stuff...I was also thinking I'd rather not derail Thumps thread any longer, though.
Ta-ta, then!

Great, thanks for the advice. I'll keep it in mind.

It's a good thing I write for myself, then!

I hope you feel better for having offered your opinion, 1.0. It's duly noted.

You said those were your recollections of it, I wasn't sure what you meant by that though - if you were being literal or not. I guess, in retrospect, that seems like a very dumb thing to assume.

Anyway, given this, my prior criticism pretty much falls flat. I'm not a big fan of autobiography, nor am I a particularly intelligent reader, so make of that what you will.
