I've always been a bit phobic about birds and once walked into a bar in Nevada, turned around, and was practically nose-to-beak with a stuffed vulture. I nearly had a heart attack and am amazed I didn't faint on the spot.
I thought I was the only weird person freaked out by birds. Whew
For all you birdies...

What's adorable? Me... me... the turtle.... hehe I ummmmmmm..........
I think I'm very much loved by a lot of people here... and I need to realize how likable I am instead of beating myself up.... maybe? It's so cute how they totally don't mean to be sick morbidly disgusting gore-covered cretins. Crafty bastards too. But the video made me cry. So much cruelty to animals in this world. I don't even believe birds experience pains like us humans do... I mean... maybe they don't even experience pain AT ALL because they don't have the consciousness required.... ...but maybe they do? I don't know. I don't see their craftiness as consciousness. I kind of think only really mammals have the consciousness to experience pain like us humans do... and even then maybe not on the same level. ...but what if I'm wrong? What if they do? Thoughts like that and seeing the mistreatment vultures get in that video made me cry. It also made me cry because even if they don't experience suffering... they are extremely important to the ecosystem of Africa and so when they are harmed so is the rest of the ecosystem. Like it said in the video: They consume more meat than all the animals put together. The cruelty towards them may be only ostensibly cruel, because they may not feel pain, but it's cruel to the ecosystem and effects the people and higher mammals... and... and it just made me cry. It's so sad how greedy humanity is. We are sucking this planet dry. |
