You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

The kicker, Losty, is that if we market this correctly (shouldn't be hard to do), we'll have more adherents to our religion than the Big Three monotheistic faiths in -- oh -- about two months. Tax-free, baby! You can be my Tammy Faye.  Big Grin

Of course, there will have to be an initiation ceremony . . . .

Tell me you're not (1) that dishonest; (2) that fucking stupid; or (3) both.

Losty, yours is not a religion. You're just an enthusiast. Giving blow jobs as a religion is known as catholicism.

Quote:quick question how is science not a form of religion?

Here is a definition of religion provided by merrium webster:
an interest, a belief, or an activity that is very important to a person or group

So then with this definition in mind.. please explain how science does not fall into this "FORM" (his words) of Religion?

...Seems to me 'education' would have one consider all possibilities of a word or meaning, and not just automatically exclude all none typical points of understanding or reasoning given a word or subject matter.

Maybe it's not a form of religion because the definition of science is:

sci·ence
ˈsīəns/
noun
noun: science
[ol]
[li]the intellectual and practical activity encompassing the systematic study of the structure and behavior of the physical and natural world through observation and experiment.[/li]
[/ol]
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

Don't rain on my parade, sir! If Losty wants to think of it as a religion -- and a sacrament at that! -- what's it to you? If it makes you feel better, I'll wear a man-dress with a funny hat, and she can wear a bottomless nun's habit (scarlet, of course).

Being an enthusiast (so long as it is vitally important to the individual), according to Drich's troll logic, could make it a religion. So there you have it!

I won't let you cheat me out of fellatio and tax-free millions. I won't!  Angry

Honey, I assure you I can worship from my knees better than any priest or choirboy you ever met. But this makes me think...to be a real religion it probably needs an outfit...

I've already offered to wear the man-dress and funny hat, and I have a specific idea for your outfit.
