More of a lose cannon, since he hasn't got the experienced advisors running the show. Bush wasn't good, but Trump would be worse. In the same breath he calls for withdrawal from the Middle East he endorses torture, even if it doesn't work in his own words, he endorsed the killing of families of terrorists and he doesn't rule out the use of nuclear weapons first.
That's a lot worse, going by what he said alone. That may all be false bravado, but it also points to the unstable personality he is. And, I may repeat, he hasn't got any mitigating factor on his team, such as Rice on Bush's team.
Those first things are also concerns of mine, except for the nuclear weapon thing, which no US president takes the option of nuclear weapons off the table. In the 2008 presidential debates Hillary Clinton said the exact same thing in regards to Iran, no options are off the table. So did Barack Obama. So did George Bush. The option to do a nuclear first strike has been part of general US foreign policy since 1945. So to me that's a non-issue.
You are completely right about the other stuff and why Trump is also shitty on foreign policy and right about his unpredictability being a bad factor. Still for me, nowhere close to as bad as George Bush. I don't think I could compare endorsing torture (which George Bush also did) to the killings of hundreds of thousands of innocent people.
