Touche' pussy cat! Should be called Extra-biological conscious experiences.
If you are thinking in terms of material supporting consciousness...atom's are 99.999999% empty space....and the one's we are made of are the lightest of 3 possible densities of 2 possible charge orientations...1 of 6 types.
6 entangled types that are simultaneously arising and mutually dependent*, the majority of which are denser and longer lasting.
*Like when you bend "white" (unified) light you get all the colors...each time...in the same order.

Sorry, but there are NO reports as you describe (this is why such phenomena are called NDEs, not DEs). In Ms Reynolds' case, her 'experience' appears to have occurred while she was under general anesthesia, before she was placed into hypothermic cardiac arrest.
Boru From the link....
"For practical purposes outside the world of academic debate, three clinical tests commonly determine brain death. First, a standard electroencephalogram, or EEG, measures brain-wave activity. A "flat" EEG denotes non-function of the cerebral cortex - the outer shell of the cerebrum. Second, auditory evoked potentials, similar to those [clicks] elicited by the ear speakers in Pam's surgery, measure brain-stem viability. Absence of these potentials indicates non-function of the brain stem. And third, documentation of no blood flow to the brain is a marker for a generalized absence of brain function.
But during "standstill", Pam's brain was found "dead" by all three clinical tests - her electroencephalogram was silent, her brain-stem response was absent, and no blood flowed through her brain. Interestingly, while in this state, she encountered the "deepest" NDE of all Atlanta Study participants."
Are you proposing that the electromagnetic field of the heart is the seat of consciousness?

I honestly think he's just trying to toss in that gobbledygook to derail threads. It never makes much sense. He's strung several people along already. Ignore.
I don't believe you. Get over it.

How do you know that it was *while in this state* that she had this experience?

Thats gobbledygook. According to the standard model of particle physics, there are 3 densities of quark pairs (renderend stable by the universe) plus their anti-quarks (antimatter) for a total of six types. The atoms we are made of and find in this universe are of the matter charge orientation (center of atom is positive charge and peripheral is negative) and of the lightest of quarks pairs.
I'm saying that the other types are interdependent realms/creations entangled with the creation/suspension of our type. None of the single types can exist without the other like we do not get a single color when we send white lite through a prism.
The unification of matter before the inflation of the universe works similarly. In this life we find ourselves in one "color". The "afterlife" takes place in the other color bands.

What, you think that the afterlife takes place in the other types of quarks? That's hilarious.

Tell me, out of all the "crazy" cultural myth/religious descriptions of the afterlife you've studied...any of them describe it as ephemeral compared to the physical world/life? Meaning is it described as a shorter duration experience than this physical life...or longer? Is it described as a less intense experience...or more?
Are the lasting/eternal consequences of action reported as being in this life, or the "next"?

Afterlife is a human invention born by the natural fear of the unknown long before christianity. However, that doesn't make it real. The ability to talk and remember comes from the brain. When we die, the brain stops functioning, so bullshit like afterlife without brain is not possible.
Also, bullshit like out-of-body experience is just another fraud because the brain remains in the body and anyone who says they have had such an experience is simply lying.
