Is that what ever news clip I see they always show fucking Pope reading from a sheet of paper of something he wrote about the earthquake. What an asshole. He's desperately trying to keep religion alive at moments like this when people are asking "Why would fucking god do something like this if he exists?" Especially when they have whole stupid Vatican there.

I wondered how long it would be until someone comes up with that kind of bullshit. It's in the pope's fucking job description to do that. And I can think of worse things about the Earthquake. Such as the several hundred casualties and the several thousand people having lost home and livelihood.

No religion owns a patent on superstition and false perceptions. Even Buddhism is full of superstition and mythology. Reincarnation and karma are concepts they hold as excuses as to why bad things happen to good people. All the religions of antiquity were started in an age of scientific ignorance and humans simply project gap answers in many ways to explain why things happen. 

But Jews and Christians and Hindus all have their gap answers as to why bad happens.

Why the fuck should people care about what a ficticional god does or do not? Earthquakes are normal on the planet, but we live on the surface and they cause the loss of human life. Who cares about the pope giving confort to those people that being interior Italy, surely believe?

People lost alot. Some their lives, some lost someone dear.

Gods have nothing to do with it. Plate tectonics did it and humans have worked on seismic preventive architecture, but it hit an old historic place and those constructions were made before such awareness.
