RE: Mafia III
I'm pretty hyped. The previous games had a lot of problems, but they had a heavy story focus, and I eat that shit up. Mafia 1 was a mess when it was new, but 13-year-old me was totally blown away by it's focus on narrative.  The whole racism angle in 3 seems like a bold move, I'm hoping they follow through with it. Combat looks fucking brutal too. And the setting has to afford it a good soundtrack.
I am John Cena's hip-hop album.

I loved Mafia1, hated mafia2 and am quite apprehensive of mafia3.

Mafia1 had excellent narrative, gameplay and the overall execution was brilliant. The second one was all over the place with a very forced tie-in to the original, and I could never really relate to the characters, it focused too much on gameplay and threw the story/narrative out of the window.

What I remember about Mafia 1's gameplay is the realistic 30's vehicles that chugged along at like 40-50mph at best.

I've never played either of the previous Mafiia games, but after seeing footage of the third one, I'm having a hard time seeing how this is going to distinguish itself from GTA V. To me, it looks like a GTA clone in a different setting, but I admit that I haven't seen too much of the game.

I'm pretty sure it's the same game engine.  Probably it IS a GTA clone in a different setting.

But that doesn't make it bad though.  There's still story, unique graphics, etc.

According to the developers, the game engine is actually different. I'm pretty fucking hyped for the game.

Meh, Mafia 2 was better.

Hopefully if they bring out another game we'll get to play as the actual Mafia this time.

Mafia 2 had more Italian than I ever needed or wanted in my lifetime. There were mozzarella pizzas that played that game that were like 'This is too much Italian grease even for me.'

So far it's got a 67 on metacritic, and apparently it has some pretty awesome glitches.
