You know, if you feel that way, let's just put it down to your usual defensive nature. As for admiring public figures, I take the liberty of not admiring most of them, if that's OK with you. I continue to do so even if it's not OK with you, but that's a different matter entirely.

I'm perfectly okay with it, Abaris. And I appreciate you offering your perspective and experience.

Don't be. Dillahunty certainly is one of the better and down to earth ones. If you like him, take a look at Aaron Ra. He's got a nice sense of humor in his presentations.

Why do you consider this a 'right' or 'wrong' type of discussion in the first place?  Can't people ever just talk to each other about differing thoughts, feelings and experiences without it turning into some kind of stupid battle?

GOD, I'm already sorry I posted this.  And, please don't "Sweetie" me; I'm an adult, and I think maybe almost twice your age.  Kthanks.

If you don't want me to sweetie you, don't patronize me either. Your age is irrelevant on an internet forum.

I consider it a right and wrong type because of the fallacious thinking found on abaris' side. I simply mentioned liking Sam Harris's writing once and he joined a few others here in calling me a fan boy and criticizing Harris without touching any of his actual arguments, strangely enough. It's a long story. I'll let abaris speak for himself.

I obviously don't know whether you admire any public figures or not, I was just hyperbolizing. But since you do admire some of them, apparently, if I understood that right just now, then I don't know what your problem is with people admiring some antitheist ones.

Matt Dillahunty definitely knows his stuff and is great at presenting it. I appreciate how he doesn't put up with bullshit, either. Don't worry about giving him hero status. He doesn't want or need it. It's better to appreciate his arguments instead of the man himself.
I don't believe you. Get over it.

I didn't patronize you. I asked you a question. And now I'm done engaging with you.

Of course not. He'll pretend I'm the asshole instead because he's got some outside support right out the gate. He'll do this because he lacks any rational arguments on the matter.

If you're going to take the liberty of talking to me like you would to a child every time I get into an argument, I'll do same in return.

I gotta tell you, I won't lose any sleep over your refusal to talk to me anymore.
