Since you are 21, Lennon couldn't have had you in mind when he wrote "I Am the Walrus" . . . or did he? Was it a prophecy of your laying? If so, can we really say that Manson was wrong to think a song about a playground slide was really a harbinger of a race war? Have there been prior egg men? If so, what's that about and how long has it been going on? What do you egg people want? And what's the connection with walruses? Should I be concerned?

I'm a big reader and a big writer. Even from a young age I loved writing essays and papers. I've never taken a liking to any natural sciences or mathematics, which is unfortunate since STEM fields are where the money is. My interest in the discipline of History started in junior high school when I had a fantastic teacher who really made learning history fun. I found the study so fascinating, and I couldn't fathom how my more math-geared peers didn't. I entered college as a History major and to be honest, it threw me for a loop for a while. The History Department at my college (which I prefer not to disclose the name of as I'd rather keep this profile pretty private) is renowned for its rigor. Great professors, but the workload surprised me. At first I hated it, but I quickly learned to love it. I never knew how much dispute there was among historians about...well, everything. The discipline of historiography may fascinate me the most. I also love learning about specific people in history. I love biographies. I just recently read Robert Caro's penultimate installment to his very detailed history on the life of Lyndon Banes Johnson. Fascinating stuff. As for Political Science, my interest is mostly in studying institutions, and how they affect politics and political outcomes; "comparative politics" is what the academic community refers to that study as. That's something I find I need to specify frequently, since I am not all that active politically. People expect Poli Sci majors to be always up to date on politics and to always have an opinion on every political issue. I do try to stay informed, but studying for a Bachelor's degree in Poli Sci doesn't suddenly make me an expert on current political news. Should I be offended that you included the song, thinking that I might miss the reference?  My father grew up with the Beatles, so all I heard when I was younger was Beatles music. Personally, I've grown out of the Beatles. I still respect the work they did from Rubber Soul onward, but I don't really listen to it much. And the stuff they did prior to Rubber Soul is not very good at all.
