Maybe so, but I also think he is more likely to get played by Putin, in the end. The best way to con someone is to seem to place your confidence in them, and then appeal to their vanity. Trump seems like the perfect mark for that.
Not that it matters. He will lose decisively.

We're told Hilary has all this amazing foreign policy experience and yet Donald was making more sense on Syria in the debate. I watched the extracts from it and I was scratching my head. Donald is supposed to be the insane one yet there Hilary is making thinly veiled threats to the Russians.

I'm not sure what your definition of sense is, in context. The minute she invoked the russian boogeyman, real or imagined, she yanked votes away from Trump. That;s the point of the debate, no? It;s not exactly a moment of discovery, no one learnd, then, that Hillary had a critical view of russia or putin, or even that russia and putin would not prefer a president clinton. We already knew that.
You know, theres an irony in all this, particularly when it comes to russia. Trumps the "tough guy", that's what his appeal is supposed to be. Why is it that the only people who do or have any reason to fear him....are american citizens, and destitute refugees?

How does it benefit Russia not to bomb DAESH? They want to save their ally Assad right? It's the Saudis that love DAESH.

If Russia only bombs those who oppose Assad then they must be bombing DAESH because DAESH opposes Assad. Or are you saying they don't? All those videos of beheading Syrian military people can't be fake, can they?
