Moralists want to tell people how to live via government and the other half (lets call them traditionalists as these were the founding principles of the constitutions) want just the raw materials/minimal government to build their own lives.
The problem with this election the moralist votes is splintered. On one side you have the fanatics who will always vote down party lines as they've been trained to think this way. But, it is with this thinking other 1/2 that creates an issue. They see the candidate offered by the party is herself not moral. Now while they will not vote for the other guy, they can not vote for this immoral candidate simply because she represents the party.
You Wrongfully assume that all non white males are moralists. It's not about race gender or religion. That is why Clinton's campain has all but failed. Because she is waging the traditional campain that assumes her base is subdivided into race/gender groups. Their is an extra variable here that she is not counting/Which is why she is not 50 points ahead, and why this is a close race despite what the propaganda says. It's her, or rather it is her own immorality and questionable character that has subdivided her base. and why her moralist agenda is falling on deaf ears outside the per-programed people her 'educated elites.'
I don't assume that all non white males are moralists. I think the religious right and conservatives in general are moralists. They're the ones who want their legislators to ban abortion and gay marriage and to put religion into government.
And Hillary's campaign has failed? LOL. She's still leading Trump by anywhere from 8-11 points. Republicans are admitting that Trump isn't going to win, and even Trump's campaign manager admits they are behind. Many major newspapers have either endorsed Hillary or have called for people to not vote for Trump. Trump is behind in many battleground states.
You conservatives really do live in a fantasy world, don't you? Please come here to AF to express your butthurt on Nov. 9th, though. It will be delicious.

Bad idea, you have some backwards states that would drive abortions underground and the country would end up with preventable deaths. look at the history of abortions to see why.

Trickle down economics has been tried and failed everywhere.
What is needed is massive increases in the tax of the wealthy. There is plenty of money out there, it is just all in the hands of the super rich. QWe need to have access for a fairer society.
Quote:That even if you took all the rich had it would not be enough to sustain the the government outside of 6 months, then what? We need a renewable sustainable tax base to fund the federal government. We are currently taking 1/2 of what the rich make (if they are so stupid to keep their money in this country/Most of them invest or put their nest egg in foreign banks) That is what trump is talking about "repatriating trillions" tax free back to this country.
You have fallen for the propaganda of the wealthy who have managed to convince a relatively poor person that it is their interests to keep the rich rich. It is a lie.
Quote:Can you imagine what a trillion dollar shot to the arm would do for this country? When the millionares bring back the money they have 'hidden away' from you tax and spend morons. It isn't just going to sit static in banks. Even if it is placed in banks then the banks based on that money will begin to issue new loans for projects, business, homes infrastructure/roads power companies ect.. This alone could take us out of the obama depression. because all of that money means more and better paying jobs. each one = tax payer.
The millionaires will continue to hide money till they are forced to give it up
Your country is doing quite well and the depression that he has skilfully raised the country from was caused solely by the actions of the republicans.

Companies like ford have the assets to move, they don't care if they move to mexico or china so long as there are no taxes to sell their product back into this country, which clinton 1 made possible. THE RICH ARE NOT GOING TO STICK AROUND TO PAY 75% Tax rate. They don't have to. They are not stuck. Look at what you douche bags did to vermont. Vermont's biggest business is ben and jerry's literally and a handful of local companies there after, and like the 3rd or 4th biggest employer??? the federal government. What does that mean? vermont spends more tax dollars than it could possibly collect from "rich people."
People make stuff in other countries you cannot stop that.

Because there's the real possibility of yet another doctored video. Just like the "kill the cops" video on the black lives matter demo, courtesy of Fox.
It's not that I'm a big fan of Moore's when it comes to informing myself. I'm very well aware of his bias and his tendency to only present one side of any story. But him endorsing Trump is highly unlikely. More so since I have already read his comments on Trump some weeks back.
Moore's a pundit, but at least he makes me smile at times. Which can't be said of all the rightwing pundits. They only make me barf. Not at times but all the time.
Well, I suspect that has a lot to do with his punditry falling on the same side as you politically, a bias we are all subject to at some degree or another. I may even agree with the man on many issues, but he's still a jackass who's opinion I do not value highly. I also do not think it likely he's actually in Trump's corner - my point is that I don't particularly care whether he is or isn't.

I don't care either, since he neither is my source of information nor would I take any political advice from him. But what I care about are these doctored videos, since, if true, which seems likely, are quite troublesome. It's rather on the harmless side with Moore (on the outside), but Fox's doctoring of the BLM protest video was anything but harmless. It was a conscious move to incite hatred against the group.

He does indeed make some valid observations, in this video he says explicitly that Donald Trump is a twenty first century facist. This is a really great video, honestly. He's 100% right. Trump COULD easily be the next president, and he's right about why. Haters are more motivated to vote.
He basically told the UK what was gonna happen, and it did. Don't like Clinton but hate Trump, then get over it and go out (hold your nose if you really have to be that dramatic) and vote for Hillary or we very well may have a psychotic, egomaniacal, childish orange baffoon representing YOU for the next 4 years, while he insults every world leader, tells everyone how he's better at whatever they're job is than they are, and goes to war because he cannot tolerate a personal insult.

He doesn't even think he will win. He's just doing what Bill Maher has been doing since the Summer..... scaring the shit out of complacent progressives with visions of Drumpf in the White House. Keep up the good work, Mike.

I'm not sure how he would have reacted to that Philipino wannabe calling him a SOB. Though this may have been even more delicious in Spanish. Hijo de puta is much stronger stuff than the rather casual Son of a Bitch the Americans use. It really means business.
