The book in question is him interviewing a bunch of other jesus freaks.  Not a single negative voice about their horseshit.  Don't waste your time with Stroebel.  Pure apologetic nonsense.

I know about the guy. I just wanted to motivate Emzap to do better research regarding Strobel.

Well, let's let Carrier speak.

Thanks for the heads up on Stroebel.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Do you think it brings the world closer to apocalypse?

I wouldn't say that I'm happy with Donald Trump. I think that he is horrible personally. But I think that some of the policies he stands for are good, such as his stance as pro-life, and upholding the second amendment.

I'll stop you right there. Anti-abortion isn't pro life, it's anti-life because it privileges the rights of a clump of cells over the rights of living breathing women.

It is also against the laws set down in the bible which your imaginary friend cane to uphold. Abortion is not only allowed by the bible, but in certain cases (where the husband suspects that the wife's child happenex through an affair) it is demanded. Do you really want god to send people to hell because you're campaigning against his wishes?

Oh, and I thought that Herr Obersturmbannfuhrer Drumpfuck wanted to remove fetters on gun ownership. Where did he say that Americans could only own and use guns as part of a government operated and regulated militia? Where did he say he was disbanding the armed forces in favour of a citizen militia, a la Switzerland? Because, frankly, that's the only possible reading of the second that's legally viable, no matter what lies Antonin Scalia and other "originalists" (motto: we know what the founding fathers meant because they wouldn't be so stupid as to disagree with us) told you.

Apologetic, perhaps. But so are the resources you are presenting, only in the other direction. Look at the facts as they are presented. Its not about Strobel. Its about what he discovered. He may have interviewed Jesus freaks, but many of them were scientists. The fact is that he explored the topic and found the evidence undeniable. Either way, it was just a suggestion. But don't disregard the book until you read it. Then you can come back with remarks against it. Honestly, thats what I do with Templeton.

I don't think we need to have another discussion on this thread about abortion. I understand the debate regarding early term abortions, though I still disagree. Late term pregnancies as Hilary deemed acceptable to abort are human beings. They look like babies. They are viable outside of the womb.  We disagree, thats okay. We don't need to hate each other for our differences.

There are two extremes on the issue of gun control. Each candidate represented an extreme. There are good arguments for each side.

Like I said, Trump wouldn't have been my first choice, but Hilary was my last. It was the decision of the people, so now it is our civic duty to respect the authority in place. This doesn't necessarily mean agreeing with everything he does or stands for, but it means treating him like a human being who has been chosen as a leader. People make up society. We are the people. We have the power and responsibility to make America what we want it to be. We don't need to rely on the government to tell us how to act.

I listened to an audio recording of the Case for Christ long time ago when I was a Christian. It was convincing at the time, but then again I didn't have the education I have now. Education matters.

You see, he's a little beyond a "bible college student."

But it tells me all I need to know about you.

Telling that he brags about his magnum cum load, I never do.  Summa or it didn't happen.

When you can present"facts," son, get back to me.  Regurgitating the same old silly shit that you've had shoved down your throat for your whole life is terribly unconvincing.  Do try to remember that if you'd been born in Baghdad you'd be just as fervently muslim.

You need to study history and archaeology - not more bible shit.

Emzap post#351

Emzap Wrote:Yesterday one of my friends shared this quote with me, "If your eschatology is correct then the thing you should be feeling about the election is curiosity." I believe that no matter what happens with this country, it is in God's hands. All authority is in place because God has put him/her there. But God does allow and use suffering. We grow the most not in the easy times but in the hard times. I don't know whats going to happen with Trump as president. But no matter what happens, I find hope not in this Earth, but in Christ Jesus, and in my eternal home in Heaven with Him.

Emzap, I apologize if I'm being thick, but could you please clarify how "we  have the power and responsibility to make America what we want it to be"; yet, according to the above post, "all authority is in place because God has put him or her there".  Thanks, sir.
