But labeling both candidates as equally bad, or all that other hype you hear, shit sandwich and a punch in the face, etc, is just that, hype.  None of the third party candidates are better (I've looked), and we have to live in the real world, not an imaginary one.  The time to fight for change of the 2 party system isn't now.  It's completely ineffective to do so.  That fight needs to happened from the state up, not from the top down.  Otherwise, it's just a lot of hot air that makes people feel better about themselves, but ultimately has no effect.

They;re not equally bad, they're both bad in their very own ways...like snowflakes made of feces....each individual, no two alike.  Sure, they both, sometimes, get up to the same sorts of things...but even then, they give it their own flare.  To be completely fair, Hillary has a bit of an advantage, she;s been dong it longer....but I thik if Trump manages to survive this election and somehow stay in the public sector he;s gonna try his best to be every bit her equal when it comes to that sort of thing...and his performance out of the gate has been positively stellar.

Maybe next time one of the two major parties will prop up a candidate that's even remotely electable upon the basis of something other than who the other guy is.  I'll be here..I'm not going anywhere.  I certainly hope they will, either of them.  But...you know what they say, hope in one hand, roll up a shitty snowball in the other...

Is there anyone in the current political scene who you would consider (or would have considered) remotely electable?

She's not Trump.

Well yes, that would be the minimal but sufficient case for it.  But I was far happier completing the arrow to her name than that would indicate.  Hillary is going to be such a bad ass, more so if the dems take back the senate.

I don't mind candidates having "working relationships" with business either - I'd practically demand it-....but to call what our candidates have "working relationships" is simply to scrub the language so that we can feel better about our choices, or lack thereof. Her voting record would disagree with both your assesment of who she's been working for and what bargains were the faustian ones from her perspective. Clinton does the high profile special interest she needs to do in order to build the capital to do the overwhelmingly larger amount of things she -doesn't- shout from a rooftop, and none of us even likes to think about when assessing her - least of which me...because I'd -like- to like the dem candidate. It's her political cover, not her political mission. The mission is and has always been the white house...and I don't even think she's a bad person or even believes in that larger amount of shit she's done...it's just the climate, she's done what she had to do. She's a driven woman, she's going to be president, someday. I suppose I hope that, when yall elect her, she's done with the pandering and shows us some side of herself she's simply never been able to present. That she becomes the person so many people have already imagined her to be.

His argument, taken seriously, was sexist and seriously misinformed regarding the reasons people don't like Clinton. People aren't not voting for her because they don't like her voice, they're not voting for her because she is dishonest and people don't like that.

Taken seriously, his statement "if you don't vote for anyone you're an asshole" is just ignorant. An election is about voting for the person who you want to be President. That's it. If there aren't any candidates that you want as your President, well, then you don't have to vote for any of them. That's how our democracy works, and it's a good thing.

Uh, no. The election is about through the act of voting, help precipitate the least bad outcome. That the act results in someone becoming president is entirely coincidental.

If that's all an election is about, we're polishing brass on the titanic. Thinking that it matters whether or not it gleams as it careens to the bottom of the sea.

I'm feeling very enthusiastic today! I voted weeks ago, but today I'm donning a pantsuit I made myself. I am normally inactive on social media, but tonight I'll take a pic of myself and officially throw down with #PantsSuitNation!
