The thing is that these protests are more justified because the man is simply not fit to be president. Democracy and people in masses often make dumb choices because we are not mature enough as a species in respect to our intelligence. In this regard, we are still a long way off from the Vulcans!
I mean Obama looks and acts and thinks like a dignified person, a presidential person; so does Hillary, and they actually have experience relevant to the job. By this I mean, would you hire oh say a plumber to code a next-generation google glasses framework? Would you hire a computer scientist to fix your exploding toilet? No, so why put a man that never held a government office as president of the United States?!

I'm not so sure it's sad. I prefer independent thinkers, myself, even if at times they arrive at different conclusions than I would m'self.

I'm looking forward to a business minded person running this country. I really think the fears people have of Trump are exaggerated and irrational. Most of their arguments are based on misinformation and misinterpretation, but since they live in an echo chamber they mistake their delusions for reality. That's really why the left lost. Everyone is sick of the nonsense.

Supporting an asshole is subjective. I guess I can be subjective and say that I didn't support the other asshole.
No, it's not done, but we should be slowly dismantling it and ensuring that the workers are looked after. It's not the fault of the workers that their industry uses up natural resources that aren't coming back and pollutes the environment, so I don't see why they should just be tossed aside, but then again, Clinton didn't ever suggest that.
Don't pretend that lobbying isn't a thing in this country, because you know the real reason those energy sources aren't taking off very well is due to lobbying from the fossil fuels lobby. Besides, private solar companies are doing great at the moment, and the main reason nuclear energy isn't moving forward is the scare tactics that unfortunately come mainly from environmentalists (see, I'm not saying environmentalists are correct on everything).
I'm not opposed to developing other forms of energy sources, but right now our homes and our industries, have been, for a long time now, dependent on fossil fuels. So, before we can start slowly dismantling our fossil fuel industry we need to fire it back up, mining and drilling, and then continue the process of developing the other forms of energy, wind, solar, nuclear, to make them practical, safe, and affordable. Once that technology is perfected, then start the weaning off of fossil fuels and begin to make the transition to those other forms of energy. We just can't start dismantling the fossil fuel industry, even slowly, until we have everything in place to start the transition over to alternative sources, making it safe, affordable, and jobs in that industry.
I'm not pretending at all that there aren't lobbying efforts going on by the fossil fuel industry. In fact, I'd be very surprised if there wasn't. I just don't think we're in a position to make that transition just yet, meaning our homes and our industries. Our whole nation is driven and dependent on fossil fuels right now. I do, however, see great potential for nuclear energy, just so long as we can all be assured that the technology is to the point where it can be guaranteed to be safe.

Unfuckables? That's lovely.
Our country was FOUNDED on political dissent. Have you forgotten? It's part of what makes America America.
You are the one who sounds like a whiny asshole.

The left took way too much for granted. While they accused Trump of running a divisive campaign, their campaign was no less divisive, pitting men against women, whites against minorities, police against black communities, xenophobia, homophobia, their pompous assed attitudes that only the uneducated didn't agree with them, yada, yada, yada. Where did it get them? They focused too much on the heavily populated counties of each state that had the inner cities and thumbed their noses at the working class in the rural areas. The black vote was down, the latino didn't make up the gap for the low turn out for black voters, they didn't get as much of the women's vote they expected, and their once loyal voting base, the blue collar working class, went for Trump. The Republicans were able to do what seemed impossible, flip blue states that hadn't voted red in 20 - 30 or so years.

They didn;t so much accuse Trump of running a divisive campaign as pointed it out, lol. Largely, though, I think you've got a workably accurate appraisal of how it all went down.

Nope. I haven't forgotten that our country was founded on political disagreement, but YOU have. It's your side that can't tolerate political dissent.
You poor little pompous whiny ass.
