I've always been conflicted about anti-discrimination legislation when it comes to private businesses... I believe that certain private businesses (like, for a famous example, a bakery/cake shop) should have the right to deny service to anybody for any reason...could be because they're gay, could be because they're a Philadelphia Eagles fan. But hospitals? Government employees being able to refuse to give marriage licenses to same-sex couples? People being denied employment because of their sexual orientation, or admittance into a university because of their sexual orientation? That's all ridiculous. This is some backwards-ass shit.

If a business is providing a good or sevice to person A then they shouldn' be allowed to disriminate it to person B without compelling reason.

For example (to use an Irish issue) a pub shouldn' be allowed refuse service to a traveller, but the should be allowed do so if they are obviously inebriated or previously disrupted the proper running of the business.

Of course, you know it will pass.  And once it does, how long do you think it will take before some business owners, primarily in the South, start claiming that allowing minorities in their stores goes against their religion?  It won't be long before we start seeing "WHITES ONLY" signs again.

By minority I assume you mean every other race besides black people right? Because wasn't it the government that enslaved and brought in S-SA? Wasn't it the government who tried to ship them all back to Africa and south America? wasn't it the government segregated the black community from every other group?

If you honestly frame the role government has had on black people in history it is a good thing that the government is backing off.

Just look at EVERYOTHER Minority group in this country. What groups have had so much governmental control over them and at the same time what other minority group has done so poorly than black people in America?

I can't speak for every Asian, but as a whole, they/we do not need any special dispensation and this country has been at war with an Asian country for more that 75 years. So if there were a truly hated people/enemy of America in the last century 3/4 of it was spent killing Asians and asians killing americans, What other group has america deployed nuclear weapons on? And yet 'most' asians accel in this country. The same is true for middle easterners and even to a lessor extent (as far as rage/hate is concern) Latinos.

IF Asians made it in America (After being stripped of land, homes and possessions, then held in concentration camps during WWII) unless the government restrict you there is no reason you can not make it here.

Yet according to you, black people can't succeed unless they are propped up by the government? That's BS. One of two things is happening here. ALL Black people inferior (which I do not believe to be the case, as my business advisor/mentor and best friend/Doctor two of the smartest people I know are Black,) or it is the government intervention in their social structure (good or bad) that has kept this race from coming into it's own. Their base is in a state of literal biological decay.  I've looked at the demographics from this election.  If only 18-29 yr olds had voted, Clinton would have won 538-0.

Extrapolate this 30-40 years down the line and republicans will be a fringe group searching for acceptance.

On top of that religion is also in decline.  Things will be ugly in the short term, but things should look very different in 15 years.

Usually that's one of the select few instances where the market takes care of itself. There aren't enough bigots left to keep a business sustained. Usually, as past events show, normal people react with disgust and steer clear of the particular shop. Remember that bigoted bakery? They went out of business after refusing to serve gays. So go for it, I would say. It probably creates openings for more deserving shop owners.

As my youngest daughter said: The First Amendment Defense Act will spur, and essentially endorse homophobia. The government should NOT do business with any group that discriminates. They should absolutely take away tax exempt status from such groups, like the Salvation Army. Fuck the Salvation Army.
