If you wear your seatbelt and you crash your car with 100 mph, you can still walk away from it and it's highly likely that you do so. If the plane hits the ground with 100 mph, let alone more, no seatbelts can save you. Sometimes you can even get lucky, like this guy below - 165 mph and not a scratch on him. Perform a 165 mph hit on the ground with a plane of your choice, then call us from the christian hell to tell us how it went...

LOLOLOL... Yeah, ok - try that, then. I see fear makes you stupid and unable to comprehend statistics. Thousands of people die EVERY DAY, despite seat-belts and such - and many more end up with major injuries and even handicapped for life - and that's fine. Because you're imagining, that it would never happen to you, and if it did - you'd "walk away without a scratch". Probably because you're such a great driver, right? LOL - tell that to the million people who die each year in traffic accidents.
But you see one plane-crash every few years and you're sh*tting your pants.

Again - the chance of that is so small, especially compared to the chance of other accidents, that I'm just going to laugh at you and your dumb rationalizations, if you don't mind...

So hard to watch those poor bastards celebrating in that video. Such a tragedy.
I'm not great in planes.
I have the same level of fear as when I'm in a car and my mum's driving.
If I knew how to fly a plane and I was the pilot, I might feel safer.

That's the thing - people accept even very high levels of risk, when they have an illusion of control. Which is stupid, most of the time. And I'll bet the same people, who are afraid to fly, will scream bloody terror, when self-driving cars are introduced. Even though machines will be much better at driving and safer, than apes - some people will just not trust anyone and anything, other than themselves.

Cuz so far I haven't heard even once a reporter to say "there are [insert number] survivors" about a plane crash. It's always "no survivors".

LOL, OK then - so what percentage is it, exactly?

Look, dummy - the point is, that plane crashes happen extremely rarely - while traffic accidents happen ALL THE TIME. That's why a million people die every year in traffic accidents, even though they have this awesome chance to "walk away without a scratch". How many people a year die in plane crashes? Very few. Sure - when that happens it's horrific, so what?
But as I said - you see something scary, so you're afraid of that, rather than of something that has VERY HIGH CHANCE, that it may happen to you. That's something stupid people do. Like people, who play the lottery...
If you don't want to fly - no one's forcing you. But your reasons are irrational and your rationalizations are unreasonable.

Yeah, but you don't understand.
When I learn to do something I become better than most at it.
Surely that's not an illusion. :-)

Maybe it's not, but still - "better than most" is a pretty low bar...

Of that you're wrong, at least about me. When those cars be introduced (and if it happens in the rest of my life time), there won't be anyone happier than me on Earth! Because with a self-driving car I won't have to pay a truck load of money for a driving license.

The very crash we're discussing right now has survivors.
