To avoid time in future I am just going to assume what you say is wrong. From what you've written here you have zero understanding of anything and to unpick each point you are wrong on would take all day.

And the GAO estimates that 70% of US corporations pay no taxes NOW so lowering the tax rate is not much of an incentive.

Step away from Breitbart, get your head out of your ass, and wake the fuck up, Scoobs.

Why is it that some people feel like it's an intellectual strength to not read conservative news. I read Breitbart, I also read the Huffington Post. It's called having a diverse and well informed opinion.

Agreed. I think it's foolish to only take in liberal media or conservative media. Look at both sides and try to be objective with as much info as you can gather.

Your post was refreshing to see, cap.

You can't have a well informed opinion without reading conservative news in addition to other sources. When people on here say 'stop reading Brietbart' or 'Turn off Fox News' they are basically saying they don't like listening to opinions other then their own. Also, unlike most people, I'd much rather read opinions that I disagree with. How boring is it to only read your own opinion all the time? I already know what I believe, I don't have such a fragile ego or intellect that reading Brietbart or listening to Christian radio or whatever is going to do anything negative to me. People who say not to listen or read conservative news maybe don't have that much strength or resolve in their own opinions.

Couldn't agree more. That's exactly why I'm here, on an atheist forum.

As a former leftist myself I understand how it takes time to deprogram yourself and wake up from the matrix. Not as easy as taking a red pill, but it can be done. All it takes is getting outside of your comfort zone and bubble and looking at the other side. When you do you suddenly feel free and realize you were under a mind controlled cult of collectivist thought to keep you there and from straying away. It's all about control, and when you realize there is a world out there, and you start being proactive instead of reactive in your thinking you understand veritas!

Lol, that's absurd.  People don't say not to read Breitbart and watch Fox News because they don't like different opinions.  They say to stay away from them because they often willfully manipulate statistics, tell half-truths and even outright lie to push a conservative narrative.  Sure, every news source is going to get something wrong on both sides,  but sources like Breitbart and Fox purposefully peddle bullshit to pander to conservatives.  Hell, even the normally politically neutral Weather Channel had to come out and tell Breitbart to stop misusing what they say to spread lies.  Anyone who is looking for a conservative viewpoint is much better off reading the Wall Street Journal or something like that.  They don't have to make shit up.

It's funny.  The liberal news sources will give liberal interpretations of stories and push a liberal narrative by selecting what they report, and I'm sure they're even guilty of reporting half-truths sometimes.  The conservative sources like Breitbart, Drudge Report, Fox News and Infowars stoop to outright lying and manipulating statistics to push their narrative.  It's almost as if they're trying to prove that you can't push the hard-right view without being dishonest.

Ha, the guy that sources InfoWars is talking about waking up from the Matrix.

You didn't free your mind. You just crammed your head even further up your ass.

That's silly. Huffington post does tons of misleading statistics. I know because I regularly read it and it's source material and see how the manipulate statistics regularly to try to fit their narrative. There is a difference between saying you should read Breitbart and saying you should believe Breitbart. People with well informed opinions who are looking into different news sources generally will look into whether or not what they are saying is true. That's part of having a well informed opinion. If Fox cites a statistic, you can look into it. To say not to listen to conservative news because of that, you might as well tell someone to not read anything other then AP briefings. Although I can't say for certain people's motives for saying not to read conservative news, I'm fairly certain they just don't like hearing it. I'd even read infowars, which is basically just full of shit all the time. However if you read lots of different news, you can read how they report on the same thing which helps you discover when they are full of shit better.

Unfortunately what you have done is fall for rather obvious lies. Remember I hail from over the pond to you so have the benefit of seeing what is happening to you from a distance.
What we see is a whole swathe of americans who react to things in a strange and interesting way.
They choose to see things that aren't there, they choose to believe in wars on Christmas on conspiracies that bring down sky scrapers and camps for this and drug induced that, all while ignoring or excusing the awful behaviour of the right wing republicans who are often working in ways that disadvantage these same people. Turkeys voting for Christmas. Tis strange indeed.

Both lib and conservative media are responsible for biases, manipulation, and half truths, as far as I'm aware.

RE: A kid on my childhood street and Trump
To back up a smidge, Trump has (in this case) three plans that cancel each other out.

1. Cut taxes across the boards, for everyone - individuals and corporations.

2. Launch a massive infrastructure programme.

3. Double the economic growth rate.

*****

A. Taxes cuts of the level envisioned will...

B. Cut funds available for the infrastructure plan which will...

C. Result in massive borrowing, which will not stimulate enough growth to balance out the tax cuts and spending plan.

The last time the US made infrastructure investment on the scale Trump wants was in the 1950s-1960s (the interstate highway system). Top tax rates at the time were between 70 and 92 percent.

Want to 'Make America Great Again'? Raise taxes on the rich.
