I didn't realize that the science went back as far as it did:

What is amazing is that Svante Arrhenius (1859-1927) came-up with a very modern estimate of a 5 to 6 Celsius increase from a doubling of CO2 levels in the atmosphere.  Still, the World, then and even now, has chosen to largely ignore "the science" in favor of increased capitalistic development with decreasing levels of social justice.
