Who's Who in Hell?
|
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

I still consider them friends and brothers/sisters in Christ. My twin is Catholic. Catholicism does not send anyone to Hell, no more than being a member of the local Elks Lodge. The underlying reasoning for this sentiment is the Catholic Church (for the most part) does not subscribe to the salvation found in Christ. Much of the false doctrine found in Catholicism does not damn anyone, but it does make for a lot of other problems. What God says on the subject will hold weight when we breathe our last. His is the opinion I direct people to seek out. Although you are being snarky, our opinion is similar. I am of the opinion that Heaven will consist of an overwhelming majority of babies, children and those that have not reached the age of accountability. As we age I have found most are more set in their ways and get further from God.
original sin would seem to guaranty all heathen/pagan/non-Christian would be in hell regardless of the proximity of death to instant of birth
does every sperm represent a damned soul too ? The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
All of you are going to my Hell.

Do you think Muslims are going to hell (naturally, she evaded that question because no one fucks with Muslims). Whoever Christ deems not saved is in Hell. While religion is not an accurate indicator in of itself it does give us an idea of how most who follow the religion would fall. The entrance to Heaven is not crowed by foolish tributes to morality, but by honoring what God gave you to know of Him.
I believe it means following the commands of Jesus - kindness, generosity, charity, humility, etc etc. You don't have to be a Christian to live a life of virtue.
As Ignorant said somewhere else on the forums: "If you love goodness and you seek truth and you strive to live a life of virtue to the best of your understanding, God can work with that."

I don't mind going to a place or thing that couldn't possibly exist. But entertaining the notion for a while:
