I've read the internal voices of schizophrenia are loud and insistent, more like shouting. But lots of people engage internal voices including most fiction writers. I really think religious people who hear god's voice are being receptive in the same way a novelist is when they channel one of their characters. The difference is that the religious have simply been brought up to expect to hear such guidance and to attribute the voice to god.

You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid. Tinkety Tonk and down with the Nazis.
sometimes I get a missive from my little head . . . .
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
Quote:I was just wondering, when a theist communicates with God, is there any etiquette which needs to be followed. Apparently in some cults it involves sticking your ass in the air.

God speaks to people in a quite and still voice, meaning you have to be spiritually sound if you expect to hear an answer. Like Drich said most answers come while sincerely reading the Bible, though I have heard his voice communicating with my spirit and for me it sounded as an audible voice.Have you heard of your inner/internal monologue. The voice in your head is literally yourself. Do you know what seperates Hearing voices and hearing spoken words, or even organized and disorganized speech? Content and context. If the content is proven accurate and the context is and always remains accurate then how can one dismiss what is said? RE: Theists who speak with God

accurate?
are Mormon inner voices always accurate ? how about 7th Day Adventists? Catholics? Ultra Orthodox Jews ? Trinity Baptist Tabernacle of Bismarck North Dakota members ?? Somebody has to be getting poop from SATAN, please inform how to tell who. The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

If the inner voice can not stand up to even just basic biblical scrutiny then no they are not accurate dispite what they say. How ever if you are given 'revelation' and after much scrutiny you can verify the message then the 'voice' can be trusted so long as it stays with in the biblical frame work. Let's say you legitimately see someone say ABC is true about the bible and 123 will be true about life. Then you 'hear' is true about the bible and 123 will be true about life. If both claims are true what is the difference? Now if you can understand what I said before, what if you add 20+ years of a voice telling truths about the bible and truths about life? How can one dismiss a 'voice' imaginary if it shows to consistently be accurate? |
